The baptism

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

This weekend was all about #2…well, and of course, it was Memorial day, so it was also about all of our loved ones who have lost their lives serving our great nation.

#2 was baptized this Sunday at our church. The same church where Mr. Serious was baptized as well as #1. It holds a special place in our heart.

Here’s the special girl. She’s such a rolly-polly. She rolls everywhere. She managed to roll herself up and under this playmat.

We had so many family members in town. And, it seems they all get together when we have kids and they get baptized. We had my mom, step-dad, dad, grandma, and grandpa; we had Mr. Serious’ mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, nephew and uncle. It was a full house. And, man did #1 get confused with all of the relationships. My grandma (her great-grandma) was “Grandma’s mommy” for a while. It was really precious.

Anyhow, back to #2.

She did so good. She was tired and hungry, but she was a champ. She wore the same gown that #1 wore; the gown that my cousin Taylor wore for her baptism. (If you aren’t familiar with my cousin Taylor, take a minute to read up on her). Needless to say, it holds a special place in my heart.

So, #2 was such a cutie. She made the church congregation laugh, she was all smiles, and she even ate her dress. Not that there was any worry, but everybody loved her.

And, more importantly, she was baptized. And, we promised to raise her to know God! How awesome of an opportunity. And, that we live in a country where we are able to do that!

Here we are after the ceremony!

After, we all headed back to our house where we dined on some delicious smoked brisket! It was nice to have a taste of Texas here in our house.

And, of course there was cake.

And, #2 might have got to eat some icing.
It really was a great weekend and a special time! We are so thankful to have had such a great weekend (even though it rained).

The only disappointing thing; a lady at our church used to make these beautiful baptism banners (which #1 has) and unfortunately, nobody was able to start making them in her place. So, #2 doesn’t have one. And, I can’t sew and don’t have an embroidery machine, so that’s out of the question. I realize this is just a material thing, but I wish she would have been able to have one, too.

And, don’t worry, #1 was not left out. Grandma and Grandpa brought her a gift…I doubt you will ever guess what it is.
