Caught in the Rain | Mommy and Me Monday | 705th ed
Friday evening, the junior team had a race. When we left the house, it was sunny and nice. (okay, it was hot, really hot). But, everything looked good.
We got to the race, helped set up tents and saw some clouds rolling in. A drizzle quickly turned to a full on pour and many of us were huddled under one tent. Then the lightning started and it wasn’t safe to stay under the tent.
So, we had to run for it back to our cars. With no raincoats or protective gear.
By the time we made it back to the van everything was soaked right through. Water was dripping off of us. Water pooled in the cup holders and console from my hat and oru clothes.
After collecting ourselves for a minute from our rainy, muddy, slippery sprint, we thought, yep, this is a good time to grab a picture. Must be documented!
About 15 minutes (maybe less) later, the weather cleared. We had to hustle to get everything set back up, numbers and chips distributed, but we got the girls on the line and the races took off on time (if not a little early).
The rain wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t have wet socks…and if it actually cooled the temps off outside.
