Nutri-Grain® Fruit and Oat Harvest Cereal Bars

It’s definitely been an adjustment in our house adding a new baby. With her added schedule, I have to keep every day very clear in my head so I know which kid goes to which place (or stays home) on which day. But, the morning couple hours are the same regardless of the day.

It doesn’t help that little B isn’t quite on a schedule yet, but we are working on it.

A typical morning looks like this:

(5:45am- Mr. Serious heads off to work. This is important because it means he’s not home for all of this fun!)

6:45am – Alarm goes off. Make sure the oldest is up and getting ready for school. Tell her several times to brush her teeth, eat breakfast and get her shoes on. Supervise her lunch making (yay for out-sourcing that one).

7:15am – Get the oldest out the door to the bus stop with appropriate clothing, her bag and lunch.

7:20am – Come inside, say a little prayer that the other three sleep a little longer and I can get breakfast in me.

7:20-8:45am – Breakfast for me, lunch for the middle two packed up, get them up and dressed and ready for the day. Feed them breakfast. Make sure their bags are packed and ready for school with homework, diapers, etc.

Oh, and somewhere in there, B will wake up, need her diaper changed and need to be fed.

8:45am – Out the door to preschool/mom’s morning out with the younger three girls. Either carpool or drop them off (which means walking all three inside).

9:15am – Come home. Pray I can get B to take a nap.

9:30am- 12:45pm Sit down and try to get some work done. Also, eat lunch, do some laundry, and feed B again.

12:45pm – Head back to church/school for pick up.

So, it’s a little crazy, and I’m certain I left a lot of stuff out in here.

One priority? We all have to eat breakfast. On the mornings where the girls are running a little slow, or the hubby missed his alarm, we like to have easy to grab and go breakfasts. And, they need to have protein in them; preferably with fruit and whole grains (for them!)

Nutrigrain Fruit & Oat Harvest Bar

Nutri-Grain® Fruit & Oat Harvest Cereal Bars contain 4 grams of protein and a hearty combination of real fruit and whole grains to help you not only survive but thrive all morning. They stick with you longer than just a little while, and even keep them going until lunch.

To make sure we all have an active and productive day, we try to keep our snacking to healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. And, more importantly, make sure we have enough water. Without enough water, I always feel hungry and groggy.

  1. Wow! That’s a lot of fruit in those! I don’t think I realized how much fruit was really in them! Since the doctor told me I need more fiber, I’ve been trying to eat more foods that already have it. These look amazing, and full of fiber. I’ll have to try them!

  2. I HAVE not seen those around here locally yet. I’m going to check them out and see where I can find them. 3 hours of work, bless your heart!! I remember those days.

  4. Our mornings sound very similar! Running around after 13 month old twins leaves me little time to get everything ready in the morning and breakfast for me is often forgotten. Something easy like a Nutri-Grain Harvest Bar would be perfect!
