The first year

The first year with a new little one at home is hard. It’s amazing all of the changes that take place and how much a parent’s life changes, too.

To go from a tiny little helpless baby that only eats, sleeps and pottys to a (likely) walking, starting to talk, full mouth of teeth and self-feeding little person.

Just seeing the change from the top picture to this one, it’s so easy to have all the feels and have a rush of memories come flying back. I’m bought right back to that moment my water broke and when she was accidentally born at home to the first time she stole a green bean off of my plate to the first time she blew raspberries with a mouth full of food.

I’m reminded of our trip to Walt Disney World where she was a tiny little bean inside of me. Then Disneyland when she was just a couple months old and I was the only thing she needed. Then the following year at Walt Disney World again when she got to experience more of it, but at the end of the day, she got everything she wanted and needed from her daddy and me.

There have been so many amazing memories with four little ones and their first year, and so many messes, too. Like the time one daughter got into the Vaseline and rubbed it all over her hair. Or the time another daughter was playing with shave cream and decided that she was a better canvas than the table.
