Is it "White Trash" sledding or "Redneck" sledding?

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Either way, we did it.

Yes, the snow was forecasted.

Yes, we were ill prepared.  We don’t own a sled.  It snows like once a year (except the last two years, or is it three…I digress).

So, when the girls wanted to go outside and play in the snow, and we saw all of the neighbors sledding (on boogie boards, office chair mats and more), I knew what we needed to do.

I went in the garage, grabbed the trashcan lid, and (attempted to) slide down the driveway.

Unfortunately, I weigh a little too much and had to scoot my way down.

But, this little one?  Went right down without a problem.  She had a gentle push from daddy and she was on her way.

The icy-snow was the perfect mix to keep her going nice and slow so she could have fun and not be scared.

And, even when she rolled off of her "sled" she thought it was a riot.

We might try a cookie sheet next.  Maybe with a little cooking spray in the bottom?

We’re nothing if not innovators, right?

We’re gearing up for snow day #2 Tuesday.  The roads are supposed to be worse and it won’t be above freezing.  And, we’ve run out of firewood!

When we kids my brother and I used both a trash can lid and a cookie sheet, but according to my husband, a laundry basket is the BEST sledding ever. If you have one you should totally let me know how it goes!

    1. I should have gotten it out! But, the ice over took the snow and it just ended up being dangerous.

  9. Redneck, maybe… but absolutely worth it with a smile like that at the end! I’d do the cooking spray and cookie sheet myself, but that’s because I’m uber classy 😉 LOL.
