YUM! simply…biscuits and bread {review and giveaway}

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

As much as I would like to be able to make homemade bread with our dinners, it just doesn’t happen.  So, we sometimes go to the refrigerated dough if we want to have a fresh warm loaf of bread.

Pillsbury has recently enhanced its popular simply…™ line to include simply…™ Biscuits & Bread. These ready-to-bake biscuits and French bread. image

Simply…Biscuits & Bread are made with wholesome ingredients, including flour, buttermilk and sugar. They also contain zero grams of trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial colors or flavors.

The biscuits were just the right texture with a yummy taste.  They don’t taste homemade, but they are definitely a good substitute when you don’t have time to make a fresh, from scratch batch.

The French bread had a very nice crusty outside and a warm and soft inside.  It was a very nice combination.  Again, not completely the homemade taste, but definitely delicious and tasty.  We had it with some pea soup and it was definitely the touch the soup was missing.

  9. Hi! I love Pillsbury’s crescent rolls. It’s not funny, but thought you might like to try a favorite recipe of mine- Mexican Crescent Ring. Preheat the over to 350. Then cook up taco meat (1lb ground beef and a seasoning packet), as per usual. Put it into a bowl and add grated cheddar cheese (probably like 1-2 cups- I like more). Stir it up and let the cheese melt. Then, on a pizza stone or a baking sheet lay out unrolled, triangle crescent pieces, overlapping the corners (so it looks like a sun). Spoon 1TBS per crescent of taco meat around the inner edge of the sun. Then pull the points of the crescents over the top of the meet and tuck or press in in the center to make a little pocket. Bake according to directions on crescent roll package. Serve in pieces with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, etc… It’s delish and a nice twist on taco night!
