How to keep curly hair tangle-free with SoCozy
Dealing with curls and hair was never something I really learned growing up. Now that I have girl with curls, I’ve learned how to help them manage them so that we don’t have as many upset hair brushing and combing sessions. Because curls get tangled. Fast.
To help keep tangles at bay, we do a couple different things.
We appreciate using products like SoCozy because they are free of all of the yuck! SoCozy products are non-toxic and made without parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol. They are also free of alcohol, gluten, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts (you would be surprised to know how many hair products contain wheat!).
During the day
During the day, the girls keep their hair tied back in a braid or pony tail to prevent tangles on windy days or days with hard play. We will also use product to keep the curls protected and shaped nicely when partially down or all the way down.
In the shower
We have the girls use a wash with conditioner or a 3-in-1 wash that contains conditioner. While it is still on their hair in the shower, they comb through their hair with a wide tooth comb or fingers to start to loosen any tangles.
After towel drying
Apply a leave in conditioner/detangler spray and comb through hair.
If it’s already dry
If the hair is already dry, we will wet it with spray detangler before combing or brushing. A comb or bush and dry hair usually have bad results. Results that end in tears or yelling or both.
At bedtime
I will braid their hair in a loose braid that is comfortable to sleep on, but keeps hair together and tangle free. Most of the time, they wake up and their hair looks exactly the same. Sometimes, not so much, but it helps with those nights when they toss and turn for sure.
In bed
We use satin pillowcases to help prevent any new tangles from forming. Their hair seems so slip on it easier than a traditional cotton pillowcase.

Do you have any tricks or tips for helping with the curls?
I found this spray conditioner a few weeks ago and I use it on Scarlett after a bath. It activates and separates the curls, leaving them tangle free as it dries!
This sounds like a goof product line. We all donate to Locks of Love and have for years. Of everyone, my husbands hair is the hardest believe it or not to get tangle free. He donates too and has the kind of hair that any woman would drool over having but it tangles horribly. I make him use a whole lot of leave in and do braid his hair at night. I am so glad after donation time !
