Icee Instant Slushy Maker

Icees were always special treats for me growing up.  If you behaved well, it was a surprise at the end of a shopping trip.  When I was told about the EZ-2 Make Icee Instant Slushy Machine, I was quite excited.

Serious Tested: When we were finally ready to make our ICEE, we got everything out and followed the directions.  We just had to add some ice, salt and water to various compartments.  I was worried about salt getting into the slushie mix, but it ended up being a very good seal.

Once we were done with the shaking (about three minutes) I gave it to #1 to give it a try.  She was really excited that she created something and when right in with a spoon.  It wasn’t really the typical consistency of an ICEE.  It was more like a sorbet.  She ate a couple bites and was finished, so I gave it a try. 

It was a little to sweet for me (and I like sweet). 

It’s a bummer that it only comes with enough for three. And, you probably don’t even get a 1/4 cup worth of slushie when you are done.

I am most excited about the device itself.  I’m pretty sure we will use it this summer for an ice cream-like recipe that I have.  And, I won’t have to worry about salt getting into it!
