Shrek: The Musical {Broadway Across America}
SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage.  And, until May 1st, it’s live in Atlanta at the fabulous Fox.
In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
Featuring a terrific score of 19 all-new songs, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!
The show was amazing. Â Now, start to finish, it was over 2.5 hours long. Â So, be prepared. I went with a girl friend and we had a great time. Â The music was awesome. Â It was funny (in true Shrek form), and the characters were great. Â Donkey did his part perfectly, and Lord Farquaad was hilarious! Â He might have stolen the show.
If you get a chance. Â I recommend it. Â I’m not sure about brining the young kids, but there were quite a few there when we saw it and they were (mostly) enjoying it! Â More than anything, I think the time was the big issue.
Get tickets to see the show in Atlanta, or check out the tour schedule to see if it’s coming to a city near you.
The fine print: Â I received two tickets to check out the show. Â I paid for parking and dinner. Â No other compensation was received.
I love your BAA reviews. They make me smile as a Thespian because it’s nice to see people appreciating the arts <3
