Tropical Traditions Powdered Dish Detergent Review and Giveaway
We’ve tried all different types of dish detergent. But, never anything this enviornmentally friendly and non-toxic. Recently, we tried Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent With Enzymes It is free of:
- Chlorine
- Phosphates
- Fillers
- Fragrances
And, it’s Ultra concentrated so the large container will last us a long time! In fact, we used less than 1 scoop (2oz) because that is all that would fit in the container in our dishwasher. And, it rinsed completely clean (no clumps in the washer) and most importantly, our dishes were clean! (It can also be used in both hard or soft water).
We have also improved our automatic dishwashing detergent by adding an enzyme package as well as a naturally derived rinse agent and hard water treatment additive.
Directions for use from their site: (1 Scoop = 2 oz.)
Fill one dishwasher cup for regular loads. Fill both cups for tougher problems. Load according to dishwasher manufacturer’s directions. It is recommended to wash silver articles by hand. Make sure all items are dish-washer safe. For really tough jobs, like baked-on food, soak item for 30 minutes or more in sink full of hot water and 1 scoop of Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent. Safe for septic tanks. Store in cool dry place.
Ingredients (the only ones): Sodium citrate, sodium carbonate, sodium percarbonate, surfactants, rinse agents, silicate.
It works and it works well. I can’t wait to see how long this lasts us!

I like you (on facebook and in life) even more than I like free dish powder!
I’ve used this detergent before, and I was really impressed with how well it worked. Most “green” detergents I’ve tried just don’t get the job done, but this one does.
