Watch out technology, here she comes
Aunt Emily hit some goal this past week that somehow earned her an iPhone. (Hey goal rewarders…I make goals. I meet them…just saying).
We are not iPhone people. Or even smartphone people. Not because we I don’t want one, but because we won’t budget for the plan required to go with it.
So, #1 has never played with one, until this week.
Aunt Emily downloaded her some fun apps for dressing up a princess and playing a matching game.
She.is.in.love!
When I asked #1 today what she wanted to bring for show and tell tomorrow, she said “I don’t know.”
I asked her what her favorite thing was. There was only a slight pause.
She got very excited and said “Oh, can I bring Aunt Emily’s phone to show and tell?”
And so the addiction begins.

ha ha wow I can;t believe the apps that the iphone has, never thought they had apps to keep our little girls entertained. That might be wroth the price of the plan right there 🙂
My Roo is totally addicted to my ipod. She "plays" an interactive book thing that has the Wheels on the bus and Itsy, Bitsy Spider.
I would love an iphone but we live in Nowhere and apparently At&t; is too good to provide decent service to people in nowhere.
That is so cute. What a fun show and tell that would be : )
I have a few very similar pics. Very Cute!
Oh no!! Hehehehe, we don't have the iPhone, but the iPod touch and our son know how to run mine better than I do. Plus, no plan you have to budget in once you own it! I'm just saying!
They make some great kid apps! That is adorable!
I must say that I am equally addicted to my iPhone! What is that princess dress up app called? 🙂
beans LOVES daddy's iphone. the games. the pics. dude no joke she can do more on his phone than i can!
and truth be told i hate when daddy is not with us – it's the best keep quiet toy ever 🙂
That's so funny! So is Aunt Emily letting her?
Yep, it's all down hill from here.
Is it wrong that I let my youngest play with my iPod Touch in church, to keep her quiet?
I wonder what our children's children will be doing?? Gotta love technology!
LOL — that's awesome. I want a smartphone, but the extra monthly cost of one is ridiculous. Sigh.
Start 'em young, right? It's OK. My sister has a thing for texting people – she's 6. (Obviously it's a very slow paced, not all of the time thing, but STILL.)
So cute! My 3 year old loves her daddy's smartphone.
First, let me say, her curls are adorable!
My husband and I still sport brick phones. But now that two of my boys are older, they're seeing all the cool phones their friends have. And we've begun the "pretty, pretty please…" phase.
Don't know how much longer we can hold out, but I suspect it will be until WE need them to have a phone. 🙂
she looks so serious playing with it too! so cute that she wanted to take it to show and tell…kids these days.
my niece plays with my sistr's all the the time and she says the same thing…it keeps her mellow. since when has an iphone calmed a child? too funny.
beware… that thing is soooooooooo addictive! 😀
Thats awesome!!
Landon has more apps on my phone than I do! lol
That is funny. We don't have one here and really just don't want one!
A princess dress up app AND the pink cover? I ask you, how in the world can a girl resist??
That is so funny! I love the pink cover too 🙂
We don't have smartphones either. Actually, Josh's brother used to have a palm pilot phone but couldn't afford the plan so the phone is now used my by husband and daughter to play bejeweled LOL
It starts younger and younger every day…. Em is all the time asking to play my phone…. she even downloaded herself a game…. without permission and with cost be about 20$ I wasn't planning on (that's just a regular cell phone and not a cool one like the iPhone.)Watch out world here they come, huh?!
damn. your blog is nice. great design.
random comment–are your kitchen countertops New Venetian Gold Granite? I'm guess that, St. Cecilia or Giallo Ornamental. Couldn't quite tell. (baggies took up most of the pic!)
but my comment…when i first got my blackberry a while ago, now, Lovie (who is not a smart phone person) delighted in telling all her friends that she was a blackberry widow.
I can't really blame her, they are pretty cool. 😉
No! Not an apple in a PC house. To much conflict!!!
O that was too funny!
They start young these days don't they? I can never get over that my 3 year old can use a mouse!
Love it! I don't have an iPhone, just a regular old cell. I only recently upgraded from a flip-top cell, in fact (still getting used to a full keyboard for texting, LOL). I think if I had an iPhone it would be trouble. I'd never leave it alone!
Karys lives on our iPhones. We have so many great apps. We are seriously considering getting her a Touch because my battery is always dead and my phone is always in her backpack. It's amazing the great educational things for kids on there!
Thanks for listing all the reasons why I will not be getting an iPhone.
That is adorable though!! 🙂
So cute, for sure she had a wonderful time.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I love it! She's a girl who knows what she wants! 😉 I'm in the same boat as you – I'd love to have an iPhone or a smartphone, but it's not in the budget at the moment. But I can sure dream! 😉
That is just the beginning, my 2 young adult kids are so addicted!
haha…that's cute. 🙂 Does it give "toy" iphones that have no payment plan? 😉
We don't do phones, so we have iPod touches in this house. our three year old is amazingly handy with it.
But my best friends iphone is nicely smashed…. so…. word to the wise… 🙂
Yup, addictive for all ages!
I didn't even get a TV to watch at home until I was 11. Wow….how times have changed. I remember when cell phones first came out I thought why would anyone want to carry a phone with them… now I can't function without it….If I forget it I am lost. However, like you, we don't want to pay for internet access on our phone but it would be nice. By the time Izzy has her own phone I bet everyone will have it. Just think, when I was a kid in the 50s we had to borrow our neighbor's phone because they were the only ones on the block that had one. Can you believe it???? Well, I am old…. what can I say. Hugs, Lura
My daughter is in love with her daddy's iPhone!
So, in a desperate moment to call down the dude at a restaurant…the hubs played The Wiggles on his Iphone for the dude. We're in for it now.
After watching her love the games and seeing this picture when I'm so far away I am going to see how much a refurbished touch costs. Maybe I can find on ebay. She's so cute!!!!
i got a storm LAST year for christmas- wanted verizon. But the more i hear about iphones the more i wish we had gone with AT&T.; Grr, maybe in December when our contract is up.
that's pretty sweet! my e pretended a hotel card key was a smart phone after playing with my brother's friend's phone a while back. yeah – they're smart those kiddos of ours 🙂
My daughter loves my phone!! Hard to keep her away from it, they have pretty cool things to download for them and if it keeps them entertained!! why not? LOL!
that's cute 🙂
A few of my friends have iphones and I've gotten to play with them a few times and would love one but they are definitely outta my budget for now
However…if you already have a cell phone you may be able to find a Blackberry and a plan that costs around the same. My contract on my old cell ran up and out of curiosity I did some looking around and was able to get a Blackberry and still pay the same as I was paying monthly for my regular cell phone. Just a thought. I never thought it'd be in my reach either.
iphone is definitely cooler though…i think 😛
