American Girl Z Yang
There’s a new American Girl doll that just launched. Z Yang or “Z” (short for Suzie) is Korean American and the latest character to join this series of contemporary characters, representing more diverse backgrounds, creative interests, and experiences for girls today. Z is a super imaginative filmmaker who loves to capture the world through her own eyes.

Z is perfect for our house full of girls wanting to make videos and be vloggers and bloggers. Z Yang is a stop-motion blogger character that is being brought to life for fans who have come to know and love her as the star of the company’s immensely popular web series, Z’s Crew. Z hails from Seattle and loves staying connected with friends and sharing a good story through her stop motion videos.

When a new American Girl arrives that is all about video, you have to get your picture taken with mom’s new backdrop and light setup. I know there will be more videos and pictures produced by these girls now that they are inspired by Z.

Also, they want her clothes and shoes. Honestly, I want her shoes, too. Those glittery slip ons are just the shoes for every outfit. (Of course, she also shares with her friends at our house, Gabby and Tenney because what fun is it if you can’t share clothes and shoes with your buddies!)
She has straight brown hair that you can style, but is worn in low ponytails (her favorite) upon arrival. Like her friends, she had brown eyes that can open and close and a soft cloth body with a moveable head. The only thing I’ve noticed is that they don’t sit well without being propped up.

On May 6, American Girl’s stores in NYC, Chicago, Seattle, Dallas, and DC will host meet-up events to introduce fans to real girls who, like Z, have gained popularity and a strong online following based on their creative passion for photography and stop motion videos.

It’s safe to say the girls are loving learning about each of their new American Girl Friends as well as sharing all about them. We are big fans of the increase in diversity amongst the girls, too because they have more dolls that look like their friends and their friends are excited to play with.

*We were sent a doll to facilitate our review. All thoughts are my own.

I have to bring my dolls over! I get more excited about it everytime you share a new doll! AND YAAAAY for filmmaker doll!
My daughter is 15 years old now, but she’s never been into dolls. I’ve bought her Cabbage Patch Kids, Brats Dolls, Barbies… everything. But she just piles them in a neat corner and lets them collect dust.
Wow, you guys have quite the collection going on! Love these dolls!
Your dolls are adorable and my daughter loves American Girl dolls. The American Girl doll Z Yang is so adorable!
Sounds like a great event to inspire girls to explore film careers.
We love American Girl dolls and I had not seen this one yet thank you for sharing.
A Korean American girl like my Emma!
Awww, Gabby, Tenney, and Z make a cute trio! It’s lovely to see your girls enjoying their dolls!
Aren’t they a cute trio? They love playing with them all the time.
