My pool bag
It’s May! Pool season is here…well, our pool opened this weekend! Then it went from 85 degrees to a balmy 65. But, hey, the pool is open.
And, it got me dreaming. Pool daydreaming. Dreaming of a solo trip to the pool or even the beach where I only have to pack for myself. (I love the family, I love the girls, but let’s face it, a trip to a place where an artificial or real body of water exists is pretty stressful for mom).
If I had to pack a pool/beach bag all for myself and I could only put me things in it, it would be crazy. But, I tried to put it together. What would go in my bag?
Of course, I would start with a super cute bag. If I’m going all me, I’m going cute! I would start with a great cover up. I spent a pretty penny on it so I hope to get a lot of use out of it.
And sunscreen. Have you seen this skin? I need an SPF of like a million right now. Don’t forget the eyes, either. I have to squint if it’s overcast, so a sunny day requires some super dark shades.
With sun comes the warmth and the sweat, so I’ll pack my large water bottle for hydration. (Although, I’d be tempted to fill it with frozen margaritas!) I would throw in my sandals with extra foot squish because these mama’s feet are tired! I can’t forget a towel, either. This one is feminine, large and squishy.
I would probably spend most of my time laying in a pool chair with my kindle in hand loaded up with a couple new books.
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Figleaves.com. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
What pool or a beach trip isn’t complete without a swim suit? This one is from .
Yes, it’s a two piece. I’m crazy like that, right? But, here’s the thing, I can order the pieces separately and get the top and bottom to fit just my size. Since I’m breastfeeding, I’m not really proportionally-sized, so I was so thankful that they offer bra-sized tops (cup sizes AA-GG) and clothes-size bottoms to ensure a perfect fit for all body types. I like that the bottom has little hints of lace on the sides that coordinate with the top while still having classic lines
The pieces each came in their own separate bag, so it was easy to exchange the top. I ordered the size I thought I needed and it was a little small, but it was shipped and replaced very quickly!
They also offer other suits in a variety of styles from classic one-piece swimsuits, to fashion-forward bikinis, to chic tankinis. In addition to swimwear, Figleaves.com offers 200+ designers of lingerie, swimwear, apparel, sleepwear and more – from popular designers such as Vix and Aguaclara, to private labels and exclusive items from brands like Midnight Grace, Just Peachy, and the eponymous Figleaves label.
has a promotion right now, too. Use promo code LOVE2014 at checkout to save 10% off all full priced items from May 1 to June 15.
Okay, my beach bag is all packed and I’m ready to go! Where should I go?
This is great although I’m super jealous of Pool season! That won’t be here for quite a while yet with this crazy weather. Last yr at this time we had the central air on 247:/
One day I will sport a 2 piece again, one day… Maybe:)
Pool season is almost here in my subdivision. I usually don’t go swimming but my kids love to
We need a family pool trip this summer! I’ll bring the eats!
I feel so lucky sometimes that I am 20 minutes from the coast. It’s sad that we only get 3 months of warm weather here to enjoy it.
You look like you are ready for a girls weekend at the beach! I love places that let you order a different size for top and bottom and mix and match. Never heard of Fig Leaves, I will have to check them out.
I love the pool! My Mom has a pool but it’s been a long time since we’ve actually used it. I am looking forward to visiting my sister is Cali in a few weeks. She lives 1 mile from Redondo Beach. I cannot wait! I need to get my pool and beach bag ready!
Go mama, rock that 2-piece! I’ve been afraid of those for years. Tankini girl here. Yours looks really cute, though! Can’t wait for some pool time.
I’d be happy just sunning in the yard!!
I love your idea of taking a solo beach trip with a jug of margaritas, that would be a dream come true. The swim suit is beautiful the hints of lace are very sexy.
I love what you are putting in your bag. I guess you should go to the pool, LOL!
Or maybe the beach.
That suit is adorable. I need to check out that site and see what else they have.
I need to look at this site, I have heard a few things already about it. In addition, I love the idea of trying on suits at home.
This is a great pool bag. I do love that you can order top and bottom suit separate. Nice.
Ha ha – totally feeling you…
I want a pool to go to 🙂 and a beach too :0
Go to the beach! That’s where I would go if we had one close by. I need to go check out figleaves. I need a new suit.
That is such a cute swim suit! I really like the cover up too!
Yep- the ATL is kinda chilly right now! I know I will be missing the cooler weather soon enough.
What a cute swimsuit. And those sandals? Love them!
I’d love to try a new swimsuit! We were in the pool all weekend. It was bliss!
very cute suit
Whoa, I can not imagine packing a beach bag all to myself! lol I think it would look very similar to yours.
That’s a pretty swimsuit. Once you find a good suit, you’re all set! Your pool bag looks very similar to mine too! Even though we have a pool in our back yard, with the kiddo I have to pack everything in one trip so I don’t have to make 20 trips back and forth into the house all wet and soppy!
I have not heard sunnies since my friend from Australia was in town. Really cute suit!
Love your cover up! I can’t believe it’s already Summer and POOL time!
Cute swim suit! I’m also breastfeeding, so I know all about those overflowing crazy boobs that are hard to fit in normal sizes.
What a cute bathing suit! That reminds me that its time to go bathing suit shopping before the summer!
Love that suit! I’ll be packing a pool bag soon and hearing off to Little Exuma, Bahamas! We are SOOOO excited! We went over Christmas and literally started planning our trip back before we flew home. 7 days of swimming, hiking, snorkeling, reading and just hanging out TOGETHER. I am constantly surprised how many people are marveling that we’re taking our daughter. We both work, so we see little enough of her as it is! She’s super excited, too. Happy summer!!
Your pool bag and accessories are totes adorable! You should come to Houston…it’s nice and warm and you will leave with a tan!
