In Stitches {Review and Giveaway}

Once upon a time, I wanted to be a doctor.  And, then I had to take Organic Chemistry and realized it wasn’t for me!

But, Dr. Anthony Youn, Detroit-based plastic surgeon stuck to it.  And, he chronicles his journey to becoming a doctor and plastic surgeon in his memoir, In Stitches.

In Stitches is chock-full of pre-med and medical school experiences, but In Stitches isn’t just a book about doctors. It’s about not fitting in, about not knowing what’s coming next and living with pressure from all sides, and it’s about Dr. Youn’s own life-changing experience with plastic surgery that ultimately led him to his current career.

It really takes you through his journey; the highs and the lows, the crazy and the weird (like living in a dank basement with a shower that barely works) and everything in between.  And, he has a way of just telling it like it is, and being funny at the same time.

Both Mr. Serious and I read it and enjoyed it. It’s surprisingly and easy and dare I say light read that I imagine most people will enjoy.
