KNOW: The Science Magazine for Curious Kids {review}

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

As a science teacher, I appreciate any and every opportunity for kids to get excited about science in their lives and around them.

KNOW magazine comes out every other month and helps answer those what, why, where, and image how questions all kids ask. KNOW is engaging, fun, and full of ways to satisfy the natural curiosity of children; and it’s geared at children ages 6 to 9. Each issue is packed with news articles, experiments, puzzles, dinosaurs, astronomy, the human body, and more.

The free online issue features shapes as it’s main topic, but also has articles, activities and experiences about patterns, too.  And, if patterns and shapes aren’t your child’s thing, there are also features about the ocean, see-through "glass frogs", nature, comics, puzzles and more.

As a teacher and parent (and I’m sure a homeschooling parent would enjoy this, too), both the magazine and the website feature experiments and teacher resource guides to help you through the magazine.  There are also fun complimentary coloring pages and computer backgrounds.

"I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by  Mom Central on behalf of Mad Science and received the products necessary to  facilitate my review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me  for taking the time to participate."

  1. What a neat magazine! I hadn’t heard of it before, but it sounds like something my niece and nephew would both love. I’m excited because I bet they would both love to get a subscription for Christmas.

  2. Sounds interesting. My older kids love Popular Science and this seems to be a good science magazine for my younger ones.
