Refreshing Sparkling Blueberry Mock-jito
I feel like this has been one of the hottest summers we’ve had in a while here. We don’t even want to go to the pool because the water gets so hot during the middle of the day. It’s safe to say, we are drinking a lot of water, but we sometimes want something with a little more fun and with a little more sparkle.
My girls are big fans of all sparkling water. They like to make things bubbly by adding it to other drinks. I wanted to get creative this time and still be refreshing and enjoyable for all of us. I had some mint and blueberries in our fridge, so we put them together and they were fabulous!
I decided to pair it with the cucumber melon Vintage Sparkling Water, but I think it would be good with any of the 6 flavors: Cucumber Melon, Lime, Lemon, Original, Pink Grapefruit, Coconut.
I placed a handful of blueberries and a couple mint leaves in the bottom of my glass and then used the handle end of a wooden spoon to muddle (aka smash them up and release their flavors).
Then, I poured the Vintage Sparking Soda over the top, gently swirled it and added ice. Pop in a straw and it’s fabulous. It’s light and refreshing and the berries release just enough natural sweetness to create a slightly sweetened sparkling drink.
I was able to find the Vintage Sparkling Water in my local Kroger, but you can find the product in limited distribution in Kroger and King Soopers in Atlanta, Denver, and Nashville. They are made with natural flavors, gluten-free, with no artificial flavors, no added colors or dyes, fat free, with no high fructose corn syrup, no sugar or sugar-free, calorie free, very low sodium–in some instances sodium free.
She declared it “the best drink ever” so I feel like that’s a pretty big win!
I like that I can let my girls drink it and I can drink it and I feel good about us all having it. And, I like that it tastes amazing and is refreshing and easy to make!
Have you made any special beverages this summer? What is your favorite?

this sounds delicious – I am going to get some mint and blueberries and make some, without the vintage soda water though. Hopefully they l get it in Texas too. No sugar or high fructose corn syrup is a winner with me.
The Sparkling Waters sound amazing and I would love to make one of your Refreshing Blueberry Mock-Jito. Since it is so hot outside, this would be great to drink!
