I am so thankful I discovered baby wearing with my second daughter. I tried it with my first and it didn’t go well. But, I didn’t know what I was doing and was ill-equipt with bad carriers that didn’t support my daughter properly and weren’t comfortable for me.

Most recently, I’ve been using the Boba 4G Organic carrier with so many amazing features I don’t know where to start.

My favorite thing? Everything you need comes in the box. All of it, the hood, the foot straps and most importantly, an integrated infant insert. It even has a purse strap to keep it from slipping off your shoulder. The straps are fully adjustable so at 5’5” I can comfortably wear my newborn and my 2 year old, and at 6’3” so can my husband!

This is the outside of the carrier, in the Pine pattern which is also organic.

Of course, it also comes with a booklet with directions, features and examples of various carries so you can be sure you are being safe. If you are like me and need to see videos, there are several on the Boba 4G page which are incredibly useful.

This is the side that faces the baby. Above the white safety warning label, you can see the integrated infant insert pillow in one of two positions (more on that below).

Since the day I took the Boba Carrier out of the box, I have used it every day. It’s super handy, incredibly easy to use and comfortable. This was the very first time I put it on and put B in it. I immediately went to take a picture, and if you look closely, you can see she’s still awake. Notice her head is kissable, so I know she’s in the carrier the right way.

In the time it took me to walk from that bathroom (the one she was born in), to the living room (which is about 15 steps) she was completely asleep, and had that super-heavy sleeping baby feel. I found that I got the best support for her head with the hood attached at least at one side and then I would often attach the other side once she was asleep.

At this point, she was just 3 weeks old and maybe weighing 8 pounds and she fit perfectly. I didn’t have to purchase an infant insert or anything!) It took me a couple reads of the manual to figure out that I needed to snap the integrated infant insert onto itself to form the little “seat” for a newborn. It’s hard to take a picture of brown on brown, but hopefully, it makes sense.

Since I’m a very visual person, one day after wearing her for a while and knowing she was fast asleep, I took the straps off and dropped the carrier down.  I wanted to see exactly how her legs were positioned around the Integrated Infant Insert. Of course, she moved around a little bit as I was trying to keep her asleep, but you can see that her legs and bottom make an M shape which is what you want for their hips and positioning.

The Boba 4G has several places to adjust the straps so you can truly get a custom fit. Right out of the box, the straps are a little tough, but after a couple wears and uses I am already finding it easier to adjust them and slide the buckles. The first couple days, I had my husband buckle it for me and help me adjust it, but after around the third or fourth time wearing it, I was able to adjust it myself without any issues.

When I first wore my oldest, I had no idea I wasn’t supposed to wear her facing out and the health issues that could come from it. Boba put together this helpful infographic that I wanted to include just in case you are in the same position I was in.

The Boba 4G is a great carrier and I’ve been very pleased with it. It is incredibly sturdy with wonderful features with both the wearer and the baby/kid in mind for both comfort and safety.

I can’t think of any improvements I would want to make and I can’t wait to continue to wear E and B in it.

Should you find yourself in a position of needing to wear two children at one time, I was able to very easily combine the Boba 4G carrier with another carrier so I could wear both my {almost} 2 year old and 4 week old at the same time.

Oh, so hard to pick! I’d love to have a 4G cause I think my 2 year old would love the foot straps. But, I’d love the convenience of the Air would be awesome to keep in the car!

    1. I’ve heard the Air is very handy to be able to throw in your purse, bag for a quick run, but the 4G is better for longer carries as it has padding. But, I haven’t used an Air personally.
