Lemon + Rosemary Sugar Scrub + Printables
I recently attended an event where we made some sugar scrubs. They smelled amazing, and smoothed, exfoliated and moisturized my skin.
So I knew I wanted to make some more sugar scrub.
My favorite was gifting it to my daughter’s teacher who is clean eating. I told her she deserved some sugar in her life. (Says the self-confessed sugar addict!)
I purchased all of the ingredients from the grocery store (sugar + lemon), the local craft store (the jars) and the essential oils online.
This post contains affiliate links. If you make a purchase from some of them, I might get a few pennies that I use to pay for hosting.
Supplies:
- 1 cup extra fine granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup grapeseed oil
- 2 Tablespoons dried rosemary leaves
- 1 teaspoon lemon essential oil
- 1/2 teaspoon rosemary essential oil
- 1/2 teaspoon-ish fresh lemon zest (I like this microplane zester)
I modified the recipe from Dixie.
We took on this project with Grandma and Grammi here so I could have a couple extra sets of eyes on the girls and extra hands.
We mixed everything together in a large bowl until well blended. Keep in mind when using the essential oils, you will want to use a metal measuring utensil as they are highly concentrated.
If you think it’s too thick, add more grapeseed oil one tablespoon at a time.
Make sure to store the sugar scrub in an airtight container and use within one month. I purchased glass containers as I wasn’t able to find plastic one at the craft store.
I would prefer plastic for the shower or bath, so look in advance of the day you plan on making your sugar scrub so you know you can find it!
Scoop it out one handful at a time and use to scrub hands, arms, feet, elbows or any other skin.
I’ve put together a couple different labels that you can print out (the will be 3” x 3” each). Just click on the image and it will take you to the full sized one where you should be able to right click and save!).
The first is nice and “clean” the second is for the “clean-eater” and the third is one my sister came up with and it made me laugh.
