Somebody is trying to prove she is more stubborn than mommy! Not a good idea, sweetheart, not a good idea.

So, we wait.

I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow for a non-stress test. Sounds like fun. Then, if she’s still being stubborn, I’ll have to go again Thursday. Then, if she’s still hanging out, the doctor wants to induce on the 20th. (In case you aren’t counting that’s 10 days after my due date). But, I’m the one anti-induction. I’ve just seen too many inductions result in a c-section (I know there have been plenty that have worked out fine, but I guess I’m not in that much of a hurry).

We’ve done some walking this weekend. We ventured downtown to IKEA on a Saturday late afternoon (see, I’ve really gone crazy) and walked the whole store. Then, today we walked around Wally World. Yet another place full of craziness.

But, they had out Easter candy. Does this excite me that we aren’t even at Valentine’s Day* and Easter stuff is out? Yes and no. No because they are always in a hurry. But, heck yes because I scored a bag of black licorice jelly beans.

Which I shared with my girls. Only one of which enjoyed it with me. The other? Wouldn’t even play along and stick out her tongue. “Mommy, I’m not going to stick my tongue out for the picture. I’m just going to stand here.” And she did.

*At this point, no matter what day she comes, I’ll be thrilled, but I sure am thinking that a Valentine’s baby would be torture for a significant other some day down the road. Even if she’s like me and thinks it’s silly to get flowers or gifts on a certain day, it would also be her birthday, and that wouldn’t be fair to that poor guy.

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies.  If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link.  It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**

I try to make sure and visit all of you and leave some comment love.  Please spread the love!  And, I never mind the comments, either:)

  1. I had to be induced twice – I have no idea what “natural” labor is like but totally don’t blame you for not wanting to go down the induction road! Can’t wait to see the new sweet girl soon!

  2. I have been thinking about y’all and wondering if she was here yet! I’ll be anxiously awaiting the news of arrival! 🙂 And good point about the Valentine’s Day birthday… I never thought about that!!

  3. I have 3 boys all of which are as stubborn as their father. My first was 10 days late, I was induced because of low fluid. My second was 14 days late (I went into labor 8 hours before my appointment to be induced) and my third was 7 days late, I just said screw it and went to the hospital to be induced on Saturday instead of waiting until Sunday for my appointment to be induced, my Mom was coming for the weekend, so it was convenient, and I figured if an induction worked once it should be fine, and it was even though pitocin contractions are a total bitch.

She will be adorable, no matter if on Tuesday or later (or heck, earlier, come one, Baby E!).

Edy’s half birthday is Valentines, that means in school she’ll be bringing treats on Valentines… I’ve come to terms with it.

  5. Hey there mommy! Good luck and good birthing to you. I hope all goes well and one healthy baby. 🙂

Well, Owen has Valentine’s Day as his birthday. Do you think his future wife will mind? Jeremy has it even worse-every few years (including this one), my birthday is on Mother’s Day!

  8. I hope she decided to get out soon!
My mom was born on February 16th, and she doesn’t like it either becaues my dad offers her a gift on one of the two occasions lol

  9. I did lots of natural stuff to avoid an induction and ended up with a c/s anyway. Then wasn’t allowed to VBAC, so had another one.

I hope you get your natural labor.

BTW … your view is pretty darn good. I miss looking at my baby bumps.

  10. At the same time, it would be one less day the guy has to plan for! Either way, I hope you “pop” soon!

  11. I hope you have an easy labor!! Can’t wait to see the little sweetie. 🙂

My daughter was born at 42 weeks and 3 days and was perfectly healthy, and not even 8 pounds. 🙂

  12. everything will be fine. DOnt worry about it. She is not as stubborn as she seems 🙂

  15. My birthday is on Valentines Day and I don’t mind it at all. In fact I like it because my husband has no excuse for forgetting my birthday. He always has a heads up when he see all the decorations coming out in the stores. =)
