A Photo Session | Mommy and Me Monday | 354th ed
The girls and I set out on a secret mission this week. We wanted to get some portraits for Mr. Serious of just the girls. Thankfully, I remembered to un-sync one of my calendars with his so the surprise wouldn’t be ruined.
I took the girls to a local studio for some family portraits where I wouldn’t have to worry about weather, the cold or a lot of distractions. Basically it was us and the photographer. And, most of the time, her efforts were focused on a very stubborn B who wouldn’t do what the photographer said if her life depended on it. Or a lollipop. But, at least she got a smile.
Y’all know that my thing is just to make sure mom is in front of the camera and in the pictures. And most of the time, those pictures are selfies or snuggling or just a candid shot. But, I think it’s also important to get those nice professional shots from a photo session. And the fact that all 5 of us are smiling and looking the same direction is pretty impressive. (I should have bought a lottery ticket that day!)
Of course, when at the studio, we had to make sure to get individual pictures and group shots of the girls, too. Because, these are the pictures the grandparents are after!
I have to throw this one in. B refused to stand where the photographer wanted her, so we moved everybody around and this was what we got. I think she looks like a tiny little family ruler here. Of course, that wouldn’t be true at all.
If you’ve never been to a studio, the process is typically pretty easy. You let them know if there are certain pictures or poses you want, they do the pictures, and then you go over to a large monitor where they pull up three pictures at the same time and you pick your favorite. You narrow it down like this until you have the pictures and poses you want and the right package. They specialize in giving customers a customized portrait studio experience with creative options for beautiful, professional portraits and personalized gifts and keepsakes.
After we left, we walked around the outdoor shopping center and snapped a picture of these crazy kiddos. I’m blessed to call them my own and so thankful for all of the pictures that I’m in with them. I’m hopeful that they are thankful for them one day, too!
Have you had professional Mommy and Me pictures done
All this to say, JUST GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information. I know what squirming can take place “behind the scenes” of a portrait session. I’m glad to hear these photographers know how to work with all ages of kids!
I loved using them. We did it a few years ago
Aww, you got some gorgeous shots! I’m sure Mr. Serious will love them. 🙂
What beautiful family pictures! Your girls are so precious!
