Crafting and painting | Mommy and Me Monday | 542nd ed
I’m sure we aren’t alone in needing to find ways to pass time in our house. There’s a lot of crafting, painting, and trying new skills.
Our oldest found a hand-me-down sewing machine and asked if she could learn to sew. I told her sure, but I wasn’t able to teach her (because I couldn’t figure it out!).
Wouldn’t you know, she watched some videos, and played with it with some help and guidance from me when she got stuck, and she figured that thing out! It’s really amazing to me that she figured it out and even more amazing because finding videos is super hard. The sewing machine company is no longer in business and the brand is “White.” Just a search for “white sewing machine directions” yields so many results. And not because they are the right sewing machine..it’s because they are white!
This sewing has resulted in some fun projects for her including some bookmarks, a pin cushion and some fun headbands. She even made one for B!
Yeah, sometimes she wears her jams inside out. I don’t get it, but it’s not a battle I chose to fight. The oldest also gave B a Twilight Sparkle My Little Pony cutie mark with her face paint crayons (highly recommend these if face painting is something you like).
It’s been another week at home and another week of entertaining with walking, hikes and outdoor activities as well as crafting and learning. How are you doing at home?
WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEK?

Long time sewer here. The internet is awesome for finding videos about almost everything but operating instructions for a sewing machine from a company that is out of business? Kudos to you daughter for making it work.
Yes, it was definitely a challenge for her. Thankfully, the principles are the same and she was able to figure it out.
