Silly, honors and races | Mommy and Me Monday | 683rd ed
It’s a hodge-podge this week. Let’s be honest, most weeks that’s the case, too. But, this week, I have documentation of it.
After dinner, B asked to hop on my lap, then grabbed my phone off a nearby counter and took a picture of us. She still loves making silly faces and capturing them….and she let me in on the fun.
We were notified that N was going to be awarded for being on the principal’s honor roll, so we had some dividing and conquering to do yet again. It got the award ceremony and snapped a picture of us. Yay for All As in the first semester of 8th grade. (Why the award ceremony was in MARCH is beyond me!)
But, yay, we celebrate.
The oldest had another race this week and smashed the 1600m race, but I didn’t grab a picture.
N and E had a race and E and B had a science competition on Saturday. And, the oldest was a work. But, I managed to get 5 out of 6 of us at the same time in the same place and grab a picture.
The science competition went well and B was put into one category that she hadn’t planned on being in. They didn’t get any medals this year, but had a great time working with the team.
E had PRs in both her 1600m and 800m races! N had PR for her 3200m race and was 1 second shy of a PR for her 800m. It was a great racing day and the only person that got sunburned was coach mom on her nose, lips and chin.
When we were done racing, we got a text the oldest was done at work! Perfect! We all met up at the race high school, got in one car and headed to a family dinner out.
Never have we all eaten two baskets of chips so quickly.
If you look closely, you’ll see B behind her sister. She wasn’t having a picture, so she’s not in it, but again 5 out of 6 faces isn’t bad, and at least we know B is there!
This week? More races. More activities. More meetings. A dance. A band performance. Every week seems to find us adding more and more the calendar. It’s good. It’s busy. It keeps us young, right? RIGHT?
