Spring Picture Time | Mommy and Me Monday | 369th ed
I’m always singing the importance of getting in the picture. Selfies, goofy faces, shadows, hands, you name it, and we’ve done it. Occasionally, it’s nice to get some professional pictures taken. Sure, it’s a little more work to get coordinated and “picture ready” but, I think the results are totally worth it. So we went to a studio and let the professionals do it.
Silly E. She had a cute and sort of sassy pose, then her smile melted a bit and now she looks like she belongs in Arendelle during Elsa’s rage stage.
For some spring pictures, the girls all started pulling out blue clothes. Turns out, we all have something with blue on it, so we went with it. Even Mr. Serious. I guess we are a blue family. For the Holidays, I just had pictures with my girls, but Mr. Serious was able to join us this time, so I was happy to update the family pictures around the house with all six of us. And, dare I say it, all smiling and looking the same way-ish?
Because this was how most of it was going down, but Layla, our photographer wasn’t going to miss an opportunity. She even hid behind the wall at one point. But, she kept at it, never losing her cool (unlike me…maybe) and got those very hard-earned smiles.
I think it’s pretty obvious who thinks she’s running the show around here.
After we made our selections, we walked around the shopping center and took some silly pictures while waiting for our professional pictures to print.
Less than 15 minutes later, we walked back over and our package was printed out and ready to go.
I took them home and swapped out our family pictures from two years ago with updated ones.
Am I the only one that keeps all of the old pictures in the frames so I can have a trip down memory lane with every update? Look how tiny our oldest was in that rocking chair (also, Portrait Innovations). I think it’s nice to see how much they’ve changed and grown. Of course, it does make closing the back of the frame a little harder.
And I updated our mantle pictures with new shots of the girls (of course, keeping their oldest ones behind them).
I know it can be a lot of work to schedule pictures, find the right clothes and go do them, but get them done. I’ve never regretted our professional pictures! But, even if you can’t, turn that phone around and get in the picture with your kids!
What did you do this week?
GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information. Great pictures. Well worth the time
I never, never ever regret a pro session. In fact, we have one with just the kids coming up this weekend!! Let’s hope nobody bonks their noggin between now and then.
Glue them to the floor!!
I have good memories of wrangling boys into that little white chair. Do they still have the huge teddy bear? I should take Nathan back for another photo with it. Probably not so huge now.
Oh yes. They still have the HUGE bear and chair! B kept asking to sit in the chair.
Beautiful family photo! I like the outdoor green backgrounds like the one you chose. I got birthday photos for the boy, but need to get one of them together. This would be a great prize to win – thanks.
Thank you! Yes, you need some of the kiddos together!
My favorite backgrounds have always been the plain ones.I do love props, though!
I’m a big fan of the solids and/or simple ones, too.
What a great giveaway. We have never had family photos taken. Our daughter is 6!!
Oh yes! You do!
I like in the wagon pose
my husband and our kids would be in the picture
I like the blue barn wallish background and the cherry blossom type trees. If we won I’d probably use it to get some second birthday pictures of the toddler. And get some with her siblings. I can’t believe she is almost 2….
Stop! She is not almost 2. This is not acceptable!
What a great family shot! And I’m loving the fun pics of the girls (including that behind the scenes peek). Reminds me of our attempts at family photos last fall. It was a battle getting our youngest to smile.
They can be such stinkers!
I love the plain and simple backgrounds!
I’m a big fan of them, too! I like that I can have them up year round.
I love the blue background with the banner. I would love to get my 3 kids Easter pictures done! We looooooooove Portrait Innovations and are there 4-5 times a year (we keep them in business…ha ha).

I’m sure they appreciate that, too! Sounds like fingers crossed for you!
I like the plain backgrounds, more focus on the kiddos. I’d love to win for my 3 daughters to get their pics done. They are growing up way too quick on me.
Love a canvas with my family
