We’ve been enjoying our NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Piccolo.  It’s nice and small and makes a nice drink.

Piccolo Great taste, little package

Nescafe has a wide assortment of flavors and capsules; many of them with a nice frothy layer on top:

  • House Blend / Caffè Americano
  • Caffè Lungo
  • Caffè Lungo Decaffeinato
  • Cappuccino
  • Cappuccino Skinny
  • Cappuccino Ice
  • Chococino
  • Dark Roast / Caffè Grande Intenso
  • Espresso
  • Latte Macchiato
  • Mocha
  • Nestea® Peach Iced Tea
  • Vanilla Latte Macchiato

My absolute favorite is the Chococino.  It’s a really smooth and velvety hot chocolate.  Look how pretty it is.  The mocha was a close second, I just which it was a little more chocolate-y.

Mr. Serious’ favorite was the Dark Roast classic coffee.  My mom really enjoyed the Peach Iced Tea (which was nice on the days it was super hot here).

The machine is no fuss and easy to use.  Put in the capsule, push down the lever to puncture the capsule, and then push the lever to the right for hot and to the left for cold.  When you feel like your drink is done, you push the lever back to the center.  Each of the drinks comes with a recommended water amount to use.

It isn’t very loud, either, which is nice if you are making coffee when there still people sleeping in your house.

While some complain about the small water reservoir, I think it’s great.  It’s a smaller machine and it holds the water for two drinks which is all we would be making.  And, I don’t really want water sitting in it every day until I use it again.

Things we’d like to see improved:

While it’s nice to be in control of how strong your drink is, it’s hard to know exactly how long to leave the lever in the on position (for example, one drink says 4.2 ounces…that’s a tough call).  Maybe they could include to clear mugs with ounce markings on the side until you get a good idea of how long the water should run through the cup.

I’d like to see bigger cup amounts.  The drinks only make 8 ounce servings, which doesn’t even fill a typical coffee mug.

I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto and received a coffee machine to facilitate my review
