All I want for Christmas is gas
Wait…what? That’s right, GAS! But, not the kind you are thinking of.
For the last 15+ years, we’ve had an electric stove. Even in college. And I just like gas better. After cooking at my parent’s, and my sister’s houses, I confirmed that.
Our current range is old. At least 10 years, but I would give it longer just by looking at the multi-tonal colors and the fact that we’ve had to replace the thermostat. The bottom drawer has lost plastic pieces and no longer slides in well. But we need it because we have a very small kitchen with no cabinet even big enough for cookie sheets.
I digress.
The house has a gas furnace. But, they didn’t put a gas line in the kitchen (or laundry room) for other gas appliances. However, I know a neighbor had a line dropped from the furnace, which happens to sit right over the kitchen and now to the range. Winning, right? That gas thing can happen!
I’m thinking this GE Profile Gas Range would do the trick and fit in my space. Those burners are calling me! A real flame. In my kitchen! This would be great for getting all of my holiday cooking done. Apparently, all of these people like to be fed!
The Range Features:
- Edge-to-edge cooktop – A large cooking surface gives you extra room for pots and pans of all sizes and lets cookware move easily from burner to burner
- Extra-large, integrated reversible cast iron grill/griddle – Enjoy ultimate cooking versatility. Cook up to six grilled cheeses on the industry’s largest integrated griddle, and then flip it over to grill your favorite foods.
Since I’m putting in my wishlist early, it’s probably best that we get a matching fridge, too. And thankfully, GE offers a unified appearance that is easy to mix, match and make my own. The Profile Series appliances are designed to reflect the modern approach to style. Clean lines, minimal curves and a streamlined look that blends with today’s kitchens. Everyday routines become amazingly simple with next generation features. Brilliant touches that answer real-life needs.
The Refrigeration Features:
This GE Profile Series Fridge features a Keurig Kcup dispenser in the French Door…what? This means I can get an appliance off of my already small counter? I mean does it even matter that it has an ice maker and water in the door, too?

What is on your wish list for Christmas? Have you thought about it?
That is a VERY nice looking stove. I like the griddle thing in the middle. Ours has a middle long burner but not the griddle. I think the griddle would get used more than the long burner I have. I hope you can get your gas line ran in. Electric ranges are hard to work with.
Two things are a must in my kitchen. Gas cooking and water in the fridge door. Because I’m rotten. LOL.
I need a new fridge. My old one is falling apart.
There seriously is nothing better than a gas stove! If you have electric and never had gas you will never understand!!
I grew up with gas and my parents and sister have it! So I have envy every time I visit! What I don’t get is why they didn’t put a gas line into the kitchen when they built our houses!
