Not on my watch

Being out of town for two weekends in a row has been fun and tiring. After returning from the first trip, at dinner one evening, I looked at our 6 year old and noticed something was off. Upon closer inspection, I realized what it was. At six-and-a-half years old, she did what I thought we had magically passed. She cut her hair! Of course in the front. Of course SUPER short!

It’s going to take me a while to get over this one. I think she knows it! When I asked for a picture, I got the angry eyes, but I still took it. You cut your hair, baby, mommy gets to document it. No, there will not be a haircut to fix this right now. I don’t think we can go that short.

When asked why? She was cutting her hair to give to her ponies…because she had already cut their hair off.

During the second trip, I heard that E hit her lip. When I got home? It was much worse than I imagined. Busted lip in two places inside, and also on the outside. Also a spot on her nose, and one on her leg, too! (The spot on her cheek? Jelly she didn’t want to wash off).

Yeah, I guess I need to take a break from those trips for a while!
