Donuts with E | Mommy and Me | 176th ed
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information. Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friends’ husband.
When you go back to where you grew up (some people call it home…I don’t…home is where my little people are!), you just want to have certain things that remind you of there. Case in point? Shipley’s Donuts. They are just what I remember and what I know and I wanted some. Thankfully, my sister picked us up some (without asking) after driving to work, getting sick and coming home. Yeah, I guess she loves me.
Of course, she got E a dozen donut holes and me 6 full-sized donuts, which we didn’t nearly eat. Mr. Serious said he didn’t think I would think they were as good as I rememebered. He was wrong. They were delicious.
**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies. If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link. It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**
I try to make sure and visit all of you and leave some comment love. Please spread the love! And, I never mind the comments, either:)
Looks like you all enjoyed them. Love this picture. In this pic she looks just like her mommy.
Mmmmm. donuts….. When Mom and Dad were in Houston they fell in love with Kolaches!
I’m not a fan, but people go nuts over them!
Yum! And cute pic.
So glad you got your Shipley’s fix and blue bubblegum shaved ice. Nothing like a sugar rush in the Texas heat!
Ahhh…yeah. Bubble gum shaved ice and donuts. Droooollllll!
I’m often wrong….I should never bet against the delight caused by fried dough and sugar
Never….never doubt it!
Sugary dough is amazing!
Donut holes rock. We had some awesome 1s on vacation the other day.
ha ha ha…
we went for doughnuts the other day too 🙂
I’ve yet to find a really good place here. I mean there is Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme, but they aren’t my fav!
Super cute pic! And I totally know what you mean about needing to eat the foods that remind you of your childhood home. Whenever we go back to visit family, we need to go to Four Corners hot dog stand, get ice cream at Friendlys and hit up Dunkin Donuts for sure.
We have DD here…it’s still not quite the same.
Love this meme, will try and link up later!
I hope you do (as I run to make sure I have a picture for this week!)
Oh donuts sound so good right now!
No kidding. I could even go for one right now!
How delicious….. I hope that you enjoyed every bite. Hugs
Mmm donuts! I’ve never heard of Shipleys before. Tim Hortons is our big donut chain in Canada.
I’ve heard Tim Hortons is the place to go in Canada!
Adorable! I love this…I should take more photos WITH my kids as opposed to OF them : )
Yes, yes! Maybe you’ll get one this weekend.
You’ve reminded me that it’s been too long since I chowed on a donut! I agree, I don’t call where I grew up home and have wondered why others do!
It’s probably for the best…but of course, I want another one!
Oh my goodness! I lived near a Shipley’s for five years and their donuts are so yummy!
So you can TOTALLY appreciate why I HAD to have one!
Yumm! I totally know what you mean. We had a little donut shop by my parents that was amazing. I was so sad last time we went by there and they had closed.
Donut shop, closed? Not cool!
Yummy!! And cute pic. 🙂 I’m so sad I didn’t get a second to put up a Mommy & Me post this week.
It happens to the best of us! I still don’t have a picture for this week, I don’t think!
I’m really glad they lived up to your memories still!
love donuts from “home” and i can’t wait to get some of ours at the end of the month!
Yay for going back and getting them! Those really were some great donuts!
And, those little pies were awesome, too!
You had me at donuts. 🙂
Nothing like some sugary fried bread, right? YUMMO!
