S-I-X
I’m pretty sure I was just writing a happy 5th birthday letter, but turns out it was a year ago and here we are again.
This time with that second hand. Oh me. S-I-X! The whole hand plus one.
You were so excited a couple weeks ago when you got on the carousel at the fair, and found yourself on horse number 14, just like your birthday. You were even more excited when you saw that your sister was on horse number 13 just like her birthday.
And, you were quite happy to find out that you were tall enough for the ferris wheel, but your sister wasn’t, so you got to go with daddy all by yourself. (Mommy is holding her breath seeing you that high up above those cars. It makes mommy really nervous with you up there all venerable. I’m sure you’ll understand one day, about 20-25 years from now…that’s how long it took mommy to get it!) Mommy’s wear their hearts on their sleeves. True fact.
You still asked for a bouncy castle for your birthday. We don’t give into requests a lot, but you and your sister just love it, so it’s easy to say yes. You spent pretty much the whole day either jumping or eating. That’s one thing you don’t mess around with. Food. I’m certain you eat more than me most meals.
You’ve lost three teeth. Well, you haven’t lost them. And, they haven’t fallen out, either. You let mommy pull the first one (your bottom right), then daddy pull the second one (your bottom left) then mommy pull the top right one. That last one was the easiest to pull and was almost dangling, but you were adamant about just letting it dangle. Ick.
You really are so sweet and kind. You love your sisters with all of your heart (even if you are trying to take the scissors from your sister). You are sensitive, caring and emotional. You feel everything 110% and are aware of other people’s emotions, too. You are an excellent reader and speller. We can’t hide anything from you. You’ve become an excellent story teller, too; picking up stacks of paper, stapling them together and making a book with a well thought out story and pictures to go with it. You never do and never will cease to amaze me.
You love to color and draw and do arts and crafts. I’m certain you would be happy all day with a blank spiral, a box of markers and some scissors. You’d be in heaven.
You enjoy your Sundays at church with Sunday School and Beginning Believers. And, you have a great time at your Sparks AWANA class in the evening. You are playing soccer with your sister and daddy coaching. No goals yet this season, but there’s still time. Choir on Wednesdays is very enjoyable for you, too and I love to hear you sing (your first performance was actually on your birthday!) You are doing very well in school and learning to be a better student, daughter and sister every day.
Happy SIXTH birthday my number one. Six years of being a mommy and you still keep me on my toes everyday.
I love you more than you’ll ever know!
Love,
Mommy
1st birthday. (MIA)
ohh my goodness she looks so grown up with her front tooth missing!!
I know..it’s crazy…and lately she says more grown up things too. Slow down!
My oldest turns six next week (*gasp*) and I’m still not able to come to grips with it. They grow way too fast.
Way too darn fast! PS Happy birthday to her!
happy happy six sweet girl!!
love the missing teeth 🙂
These are great! How do these years keep sneaking up on us?
If you figure it out, please let me know!
Oh my gosh! All of a sudden she looks all grown up. SIX!!!!
It’s crazy. It really happened this month!
She is such a beautiful and sweet person, Krystyn. My date to the Disney On Ice event even commented on what a sweetheart she must be 🙂 You are doing such a great job with those girls.
I will say that I am not looking forward to the tooth-pulling stage. Eek! That must be so horrifying. lol
Aww..if only you knew how much I needed to hear that when it came through my email (I’m only like 2 weeks behind).
I would prefer to pull them then watch her dangle it and mess with it. Ew.
Time flies by so fast sometimes – she is looking so grown up now, a big six year old girl!
It really does..sometimes I like it. Most of the time I don’t!
A beautiful letter to go along with a beautiful little girl. I smiled reading this post.
Thank you! She is smile worthy!
awww, Happy Birthday! I’m telling you, mine are all grown and where time went, I’ll never know. Now I have 9 grandchildren as well. Enjoy them while they’re young because tomorrow they’ll be graduating…surely will seem that way
I would like to find the pause button for sure.
How sweet…I LOVE this. Happy birthday sweet girl! I love that you linked the other birthday posts at the bottom, very clever 🙂
I have to admit..I do that for myself..I always go back and read them.
Happy birthday to her! They grow up so stinkin’ fast!
Don’t I know it.
Happy Birthday to her! She is very cute!
Thank you! I know one day she’ll love coming back and reading all of these comments.
Happy belated birthday to your beautiful baby girl!!!!
Why thank you!
Happy Birthday! What a great idea to write your child a letter each year on their Birthday!
I try to remember. I think there have been a couple I’ve missed…I bet she won’t care:)
That is so cute about the horse numbers and birthdays. I loved your letter to your daughter, it was very touching. I know you will have a great relationship with her as she grows.
It really was funny how the numbers worked out.
Happy birthday to your daughter! My oldest daughter just celebrated her 5th birthday this October as well! Just tonight she asked me when she was going to start losing teeth, lol. Now I can tell her maybe by her next birthday! 🙂
Some of her friends had right at 5 but she was a super late teether..I thought it wouldn’t be until she was 7!
Happy Birthday to you. I know, the time flys by so fast.
I know we all want to figure out how to slow it down.
Love that toothless smile :). Hard to believe she’s SIX!!!
I know. I can’t believe it, either. I’m certain she was little little bundle that I had no idea what to do with just a couple days ago.
happy birthday to her so cute!!
Thank you.. most of the time we agree!
