School’s out, now what?
On the way home from Disney World, I pulled up the calendar and immediately panicked. The older two girl had one week of school left and the preschooler had one day left. I hadn’t planned anything for the summer for them. We need summer activities to keep us all sane!
We quickly started looking at our church’s camp and VBS schedule and mapped out some summer camps for the girls. While I have a schedule posted on our fridge of the day broken into 30 minute intervals, they all prefer their 30 minutes sessions at camp with their friends. The camps occupy the 9am-1pm window, leaving the afternoons for the two littles to nap and the two bigs to figure out what to do.
Flexibility
With a computer set up just for them to use, they will be able to use Brain Chase in the afternoons. It involves a commitment of approximately five hours of focused online academic work each week for five weeks. Because the curriculum is web-based, they can complete the work whenever, wherever, and in whatever order they prefers. And while we do have the computer set up, they can complete math, language and reading assignments on tablets. (For the
writing assignments, it’s recommended to have a desktop or laptop available.)
Supplemental Summer Activity
Brain Chase is completely flexible even with all of their camps. In fact, if they get behind, they can easily catch up…they just can’t work ahead. It is the perfect way to supplement the summer’s outdoor fun with positive, educational screen time and it’s not too late to sign up!
Are you a teacher?
Brain Chase is offering a $15 Staples gift card to teachers for each of their students they refer to Brain Chase. Registrants who
hear about Brain Chase from a teacher can simply enter that teacher’s name and school name at registration. The referral rewards can add up to substantial
funding for classroom supplies – it’s a great opportunity for a class fundraiser through the PTA or other school organizations.
Ready to sign up?
Premium pricing package update. Alongside the regular pricing package ($199 for the first registration, and then $100 for each sibling), Brain Chase has now begun offering their premium pricing package ($249 for the first registration, and then $149 for each sibling). What have you planned for summer for your kids? Have you signed up for Brain Chase yet?
what a great idea for summer entertainment and it keeps their brains working.
I am a teacher and we signed up for Brain Chase this summer. I am really looking forward to the flexibility we will have this summer along with no alarm clocks.
I wish my girls needed an alarm clock…granted, the school year is longer than the summer, so I guess I should be happy!
