Cookies with the girls

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

We’ve come a long way since the sprinkled cookie of 2009 and moved on to things like homemade chocolate chip cookies.

(And, let me tell you how killer it was not to eat the dough with all of the egg scares going on right now.  The Serious girls love our cookie dough).

This weekend, I decided we had to do something in the hour or two before dinner or else we would go crazy!  I knew we had all of the ingredients for my aunts super secret, perfectly delicious, only hand-mixed chocolate chip cookies.  So we went for it.

They both wanted to make their own pans.  And, when I realized how into it they were, I was definitely all for it.

She was only slightly confused and kept calling the chocolate chips "black beans."  She’s super silly like that.  The "cookies" she put on the pan…they left a little to the imagination.

Her cookies were impressive.  They continued to get smaller, but when we mentioned it, she went back and fixed them all.  We really have no idea where she gets her attention to detail *ahem*.

No matter what they looked like, they all tasted delicious.

Baking cookies with my girls is truly one of my fave things to do. Know what is scary. My 11 year old made a batch all by herself a couple of weeks ago. NOT good for my thighs. Not at all!

    1. Not good for the thighs, but super sweet that she can do it by herself.

  16. Cute pics! Baking cookies with the little ones is so much fun – and I probably would have used the egg scare to eat more cookie dough myself. You know, in order to protect the children and all that.

    1. See..I need a thought adjustment..I never would have thought of that.

  17. I love black bean cookies, mama! Who needs chocolate chips these days?!
