Luma Humidifier {Review}

Things are getting colder. And, the colder means that we are running the heater a lot more, which means it’s also dry in our house. We don’t have a humidifier system for the whole house (but I wish we did), so we have to settle for humidifiers in each room. If not, we have bad noses running around!

Up until a few weeks ago, the one in our room was a basketball. Nothing says grown up like a basketball humidifier. But now, we are using the much nicer and adult bedroom worthy Luma Comfort HC12W humidifier.

It’s so aesthetically pleasing and fits in our room with our fancy furniture (which that gate has obviously since been moved to the stairs). The design was inspired by a floral vase and blends in with any decor – it looks more like a modern home accoutrement rather than a home appliance. And the top part can be changed to different heights with the included spouts (so if you put it on a table, it is much shorter). It is designed for rooms up to 650 square feet, and micro fine cool mist that provides soothing comfort for cough, cold or allergy symptoms. The micro droplets are nice because it doesn’t leave a wet spot on the floor or my nearby dresser.

  • up to 45 hour run time per tank fill (I found this to be true on the lowest setting, turning it up meant it needed to be refilled more often.)
  • Utilizes energy-efficient ultrasonic technology
  • Convenient remote control operation
  • Internal demineralization cartridge that significantly reduces mineral buildup in the tank
  • Cheerful musical alerts (as you turn it up, the “dings” go up the scale.)

When it’s cold here and we have the heater on, I really need this running or I get a bloody nose and super itchy and dry skin. It definitely helped with that.

One thing that I didn’t care for was the alert that it needed more water. If it runs out in the middle of the night, it’s loud enough to wake me up. Also, I found even if I powered it down (when it got hotter here and I didn’t want it on) and it was out of water, it would still sound the alarm even off (so I had to actually unplug it).

The Luma Humidifier is a very nice grown up humidifier with a much higher capacity than most of the others I’ve used.
