This weekend, I joined my best friend Meghan and about 98 other people with cameras at a photography workshop in Atlanta. I’ve had two DSLR cameras and I only slightly know what the heck I’m doing. What I mean is, I can turn it on, sort of press some buttons and fiddle with things, but I really don’t know exactly how to change settings if something is off.

This session changed that. Everybody was so patient (seriously, about 10 minutes in, I was ready to throw in the towel), but they kept on me. They asked what I needed help with, and actually helped me. It was pretty cool. I even know how to adjust the white balance and ISO!

Now, am I going out and selling myself as a photographer? That’s a big no….but the fact that you can see our faces in my cave of a living room? And we don’t look too washed out or too yellow (I realize the jury is still out), I’ll take it! And, I even used manual everything! I tested out the camera and made adjustments until I thought it would work and then handed the camera to Mr. Serious.

Mommy and Me Monday

One of my girls wasn’t having any of it, so we let her have a pass after getting a couple. Then, it was time for silly faces. If there’s one thing they love, it’s making a good silly face. One day, they won’t want to take silly face pictures, so for now, I’ll totally do it with them.

  1. Love reading your blogs, they always bring a smile on the face, and the other day I was at home with my 2 baby girls and I gave them a hair pampering session and we all enjoyed such memorable time together!
