Birthdays and Easter and Field Trips, Oh My! | Mommy and Me Monday | 480th

It’s always good when a busy week is also a heart is full kind of week. We started at the pediatrician with well child check-ups for 3/4 of the girls and ended with a fun Easter barbecue.

My birthday dinner was my choice and I actually picked like a week in advance which is pretty much unheard of for me. Who can beat 50% off sushi roll night? And then we came home to my homemade (by N) gluten free (turns out naturally dairy free) carrot cake and dairy free cream cheese icing (which tastes good, but doesn’t really firm up). Pretty sure it was the best cake I’ve ever had. But I’m certain it was because it was made with extra love…I mean she even grated the carrots for me.

Happy birthday

Yes, I stuck with my intermittent fasting even on my birthday, but decided for forgo counting macros. If you haven’t noticed yet, I really and truly believe the FASTer Way to Fat Loss is a way of life that’s sustainable and so flexible.

I was able to coordinate with Mr. Serious so I could go with N to her field trip to Red Top Mountain. Who knew there was something like this so close by? We really need to get out of our bubble more!

We learning orienteering, how to start a fire and practiced building a shelter from what was on the ground. (It was a state park so we weren’t allowed to collect things that hadn’t already fallen from frees.)

Workouts still happened, but required a little more timing and organization. Between my birthday dinner and Mr. Serious’ basketball game, we finally got a full workout together in Saturday. Naturally, that means it’s time for a confidence-building gym mirror selfie. These help us really see changes because sometimes we need some motivation to keep doing what we are doing.

Easter Sunday the oldest and Mr. Serious went in early to help with a church breakfast and fundraiser for the youth choir. The rest of us met up there and they all ate breakfast. Thankfully on the way out, I realized there was a spot for a picture and somebody offered to get a family picture!

I’m glad we stopped and took the opportunity because these group and family shots are becoming few and far between!

Happy Easter
