It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids.  Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.

The pool has been calling us for weeks now. It finally opened! And, of course, I can’t/won’t get in. (I don’t want the scab to come off my thumb…ewww!)

E and I walked down there and hung out for a while, but it is hot! Is it really only May?

We headed home, got dinner ready and then she ate. She was all smiles, until the phone came out…but I still took it.

Because I want to remember this sweet, cute, and cuddly stage.

Not to mention the non-talking, and no talking back stage. I really like those!

(If anybody has ideas for some creative discipline for a certain stubborn 3.5 year old…we’d love to hear them).

Happy Memorial Day and make sure to take time to remember those that lost their lives fighting for our country.

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies.  If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link.  It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**

I try to make sure and visit all of you and leave some comment love.  Please spread the love!  And, I never mind the comments, either:)

  1. To get a little peace and quiet in the car, I found a song my son really loved to listen to and made a deal with him – I would only play the song if he would stop talking while it was playing. I told him that I couldn’t hear him well when the music was on so every time he’d talk, I’d turn it off but after 3 times, it stayed off. He learned pretty quickly that if he wanted to hear his song, he had to just stay quiet. I actually didn’t mind putting it on repeat.

    1. Hmm…I can try this. She’s pretty darn stubborn, though. (yes, she gets that from me!)

  2. Cute!!

I’ll let you know when I tame my 3.5 year old… Lol.

  3. Oh man, I wish I knew something more about discipline. All I’ve got is time out. I’m not looking forward to those days, either!

  4. LOL The non talking back stage? I don’t think I remember that!
Love this capture, so serious and yet so beautiful!

    1. Don’t I know it!

She’s a tough nut to crack sometimes.

  5. I love the no talking back stage! I can’t believe I will have three doing it at the same time!! Have you tried a reward chart? That’s all I got right now.

    1. Yeah, we’ve tried it…not good for her.

I bet three at once will surprisingly be easier:)

  6. If it helps any, something usually clicks when they turn 4 and it gets so much easier. 3 is the worst…so much harder than the ‘terrible 2’s’! Good Luck!

    1. Here’s hoping. Our 5.5 year old wasn’t this hard.

But, yes, 3 is worse than 2!

  7. I used to work at a preschool program and the three year olds were my favorite! They were the sweetest and better listeners and so full of awe at learning so many new things (now, the 4 year olds were different, full of attitude lol)…I guess it’s true that at home they are totally different!

  8. Well, I hear you. I have a pretty stubborn 5 year old. And he’s only that way with ME! SO frustrating at times!

    Love your photo… 🙂

    1. Yes, just us. At school, she’s awesome. I guess I’d rather have it like that, then an angel at home and terrible at school!

  9. Love the cuddles. Eli is slowly getting out of it. Although, I did rock him last night and it was so sweet.

As always, you have such great photos of you and at least one of the girls!

    1. I actually got to cuddle Nat not that long ago..it changes so quickly.

  10. oh how i love the sweet, cute, cuddly stage!

soak it up mama (just like i am sure you are doing!!)

  11. Um, well – congratulations on the newest edition! I bet you’ve never received a congrats MONTHS later, huh?! 🙂 I’m quick like that. Needless to say I don’t get out in blog-land much anymore. Something about four kids does that to my time. She is a doll, as are the other two – I hope you have a great summer!! Sounds like you really DID set the bar high on day one….I read that list and immediately felt a little pathetic. 😉

    1. Thanks, hon! Months later is all good. Three kids does it to me. I don’t comment nearly as much. I read in my reader, but getting over and typing words..just doesn’t happen as much.

Yeah, it’s been downhill ever since!
