What I learned, but kind of always knew from throwing a Disney Kids Party | Mommy and Me Monday | 376th ed
We’ve thrown a few kid parties in our day. Four kids equals a lot of parties. And, they’ve been all over the place with what we’ve done, from a Zumba Party, to a jumpy party with a piñata, to Disney parties.
Thanks to our friends at Disney and a few other sponsors, we were sent a box of goodies to throw a Disney Kids party. We knew we had to do it, but things kept creeping up on the calendar and we were running out of time, so I deemed our party a “no stress” party.
And you know what? It totally was.
We took what we were sent, made some goodie bags, got some juice, some pizzas and store-bought cupcakes and the meal was made.
We coupled it with a Hidden Mickey game that the kids were able to play on their own finding 8 Mickeys hidden around the house and noting their locations.
And, decorated some metallic blue party hats to make Mickey’s Sorcerer hats.
And we set up a backdrop and let the kids play with the Photo Booth. (Maybe the grown-ups played, too.) These were printed at the house before everybody left and they were able to take them home.
Even though the party was geared at preschoolers, the older siblings had just as much fun and make not even more fun.
So, what did I learn from all of this? The kids don’t really care about the details. They just want to hang out with their friends. They want to play. They want to color and be artistic. They want to jump on the trampoline. They want to eat together. They just want to have some fun.
We did’t even think about playing Just Dance, but before we knew it, they got it out and were playing and having a great time together.
It doesn’t have to be wildly orchestrated. It doesn’t have to be planned out and perfect. Just get the kids together and let them be kids and do their thing.
And if you are lucky, they will let you take some pictures with them and let the grown ups grab a couple, too!
Did you get in the picture this week or cook something yummy with your kids?
GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!

Yay for the photo booth strips! I love that! And a hidden mickey game is a PERFECT thing to do.
They had a good time playing it too. I thought the older kids would think it was too easy.
Of course, they did ask what their prize was after finding them all.
Love the photo booth pictures.
So true! My goal these days is simple, simple, simple. Makes it far more fun for us moms! 🙂 BTW, love the Photo Booth shots – especially the cute ones of you and your husband.
OMG that picture of Squish made me laugh out loud. She looks like she is picking her nose!
I thought the same thing!
