B’s first Halloween is almost here
For every first Halloween, there has been a little pumpkin. We even loaned out our pumpkin to my niece last year. It’s sort of a funny thing…the traveling pumpkin. But it works.
Of course, we should be thinking about costumes for this year. A spooky ghost? A cupcake? A bee? Because our oldest two will no longer allow us to coordinate them as Bo Peep and her sheep, of this I’m certain.
But, I know I will get one last use out of that pumpkin costume this year with B….and if I’m sneaky, I’ll use it next year, too!
This Saturday, October 18th, Babies“R”Us and Pampers are partnering to help you celebrate your Baby’s First Halloween. Oh my gosh I remember my oldest sons first Halloween we could not take him in the stores or have trick or treaters come to the door he was so scared of everything!
My baby’s first Halloween was almost 35 years ago! I remember well and have many pictures of her dressed up as a bumble bee. She was the cutest! Now I get to enjoy watching my grandsons dress up each year.
How fun! We will have to see if our BRUS is doing this event. It’s the perfect time of day for Logan. B will make an adorable pumpkin!
The event sounds like fun!

With B’s first halloween, we didn’t really go anywhere – I mean, he was like 8 months old, not like he could have candy… but we did go see MY grandmother… and she gave him a toy… and that is a memory I will always treasure, since we went to her house every year first as a child growing up and he got to do it as well 🙂

We ended up going to a Halloween party that first year with other families I met through prenatal water aerobics and their babies. It’s turned into an annual tradition that we look forward to. From 6 babies that first year to 12 now (maybe 13 depending when mine makes her arrival). I’m assuming Baby Girl will be here in time to celebrate Halloween even if she sleeps through it (she’s due next Wednesday) but may or may not be here in time for this year’s party (10/25). She does have a costume waiting just in case. 🙂

The cute costumes, of course are my favorites. My little ones were pumpkins too!
I dressed my son up as Stewie from The Family Guy for his first Halloween because somehow the guys at my husband’s job (police department) had nicknamed him Baby Stewie. There is no telling why. It was really funny though – and red overalls were way more difficult to find than I had anticipated!
We’re going to miss the event, because my son is competing in a taekwondo championship……
Only had one pumpkin…..next baby was a chili pepper to match the chef….3rd baby was a yoda to match the star wars clone trooper (the other was Jessie from Toy Story)…..This year, the 4th baby will be Mickey Mouse to match our Minnie……..(the other 2 will be some star wars character and a policeman)
