Familiar Scents Evoke Memories

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Air Wick. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

I once read that smell is your strongest sense for evoking memories. Pretty sure it’s true. There are certain things I smell that will bring me right to a moment or a place in an instant.

Like the smell of an old school bandaid? Totally brings me back to a school that I was bused to once a week in 3rd grade for our Gifted and Talented/Target program. Every single time. The smell of strawberries makes me think of strawberry pie (why didn’t I have one this year. Boo!)

Airwick is helping capture these memories with their line of Familiar Favorites. They come in familiar smells like Snuggle, Cinnabon and Baby Magic.

I immediately plugged the Cinnabon warmer in the wall in the kitchen. It’s all warm and cinnamony. I don’t think it quite smells like the mall by the Cinnabon kiosk. But, it’s yummy!

I put the gadget with the Snuggle in the guest bathroom downstairs. I can adjust the time on the back and it automatically sprays. But, once I thought about it, I had to move it. Nothing like washing your hands and getting a face full of spray. Whooops. So, it’s now on top of a cabinet in our laundry room. We don’t fabric softener, so it’s perfect in there. And, can’t spray anybody!

The Baby Magic? Smells just like a sweet, clean baby. So, it’s perfect in both the upstairs kid bathroom as well as the bedroom with two cribs. It just makes me want to squish a baby!
