Girls on the Run 5K | Mommy and Me Monday | 510th ed
This weekend was yet another fill the calendar, overflowing yet fun time! I started Thursday with a trip to Nashville, Tennessee with my friend Meghan to attend the Blissdom conference. We ended up scooting out early Saturday so that I could make it to the Girls on the Run 5K fun run on Sunday morning. I made it home at about 10:30 and didn’t get to sleep until after midnight.
But, look at these smiling faces! Totally worth it! The weather was great this year for the Girls on the Run 5K. It wasn’t too sunny and the clouds kept some warmth in.
We arrived and we were ready to find our groups (one elementary group and one middle school group), but got a quick shot of the 4 of us (the younger two were at a church breakfast which worked out perfectly)!
They had some super fun butterfly backdrops so we had to have the girls grab pictures! I mean look at these transformative girls!
I swear she was just a little egg laying on a leaf…(if you know, you know, The Hungry Caterpillar, right?). And now she’s a teenager!
We worked on pacing and kept up our slow and steady jog for most of the run. We had a couple stops, but we finished the run in under 45 minutes. My goal was to just finish and we did it!
The oldest and Mr. Serious finished a little behind us (they started in another later group)…then we were able to grab our group finisher shot!
I’m so glad I made it back so we could do our fun run! Now, if somebody wants to come rub my calves, I’d be very grateful…I haven’t done enough running on hills!
What did you do this week?

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information. Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friend’s husband.
I Love the wings wall. That is so pretty!
You’re cool! My wife and I also do sports with our kids to stay role models for them and help them stick to a healthy lifestyle. Next year we’re going to take part in family competitions. Wish us good luck 😉
