Mr. Serious and I snuck off last weekend for a long awaited and much needed trip for two to Jamaica. It had been entirely too long since the two of us had been able to sneak away. We decided it needed to happen. If you don’t follow on Facebook or instagram (why aren’t you?), then you probably had no idea.

We found a date the grandparents were willing to come in for, and did a little kid swap and we were off early Friday morning (this is where I would share that picture…but um, nope, they are pictures of two very tired parents and you can see those any other week here!)

Y’all the airport on the Montego Bay side of the island starts at the edge of the ocean. So, you come down right over the ocean and the land pops up right before your plane lands.

After we had some food and got our room, we took a bike ride tour around the bay. (Please ignore my sideways helmet. I fixed it.)

And took in some great views while on the tour.

We saw some amazing sunsets.

We relaxed by the plentiful pools and beaches.

And we had some delicious food, drinks and entertainment.

Oh, did I mention the views that we took in? Rubbing it in too much? Sorry…it was fun. And WARM!

The morning we left, the little two were still asleep. When we got home, they were in bed (we snuck in kisses, but they didn’t remember). E was all hugs and snuggles in the morning and wanted a picture.

If you haven’t had a date night/day/weekend with your spouse, I highly recommend it. My parents are telling me how much fun they had, so that sounds like permission to me to schedule another trip, right?

What were you up to this week?

Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. 1. Oh my god, that looks fabulous. Dan and I are planning a trip to Vegas to celebrate our 10th anniversary and it will be our first solo vacation. Looking forward to it!

  2. Looks like a wonderful getaway! We’ve had a couple of weekend trips and one week in England for our 10th anniversary – but all before baby #2. Trying to get her weaned and sleeping through the night so we can get at least one night away later in the year. You’re right – it’s so worth it and needed plus we’re also fortunate enough to have grandparents that would be willing to watch our kids as well.

  3. Looks like you had a great time! Maybe we will take a weekend trip for our 5 year anniversary since Morgan will be a year old. I don’t know if I will be ready…

That sounded like a lovely weekend trip! My husband and I used to be able to get away for the night when we lived near our families, but we moved far away from them and haven’t had that luxury. my in-laws are moving much closer to us, so I am really looking forward to some alone time again with my husband.
