Taco Tuesday, Running and Strawberries | Mommy and Me Monday | 535th ed
Looking back one day this week, I couldn’t remember what we had done the day before. I knew something was different. It wasn’t all Groundhog Day. But the days sure do feel like that. But between Mr. Serious and myself (and sometimes the girls grabbing my phone), we have pictures of the ordinary and the extraordinary.
Like Taco Tuesday that is also Cinco de Mayo. It’s very rare that I remember to do tacos on Tuesday. Not that it’s a rule or anything. I could eat tacos everyday!
Our church challenged us to a handsfree meal….which was perfect for taco night, so we grabbed a quick picture.
Later in the week (Thursday maybe), the middle school cross country coach sent information and an updated schedule for summer running. So, I grabbed my upcoming 6th grader and we decided to log our first mile together. Our time wasn’t fast, but we did it together. It helped that the weather was perfect.
On Friday, the oldest two and I completed a 2.23 mile run in memory of Ahmaud Arbery. We continued walking after and talked about justice, privilege, racism, racial injustice and, if you see something, doing or saying something. Be an advocate. Speak up.
Saturday, we all needed to get out of the house, so we took the hour plus drive back to Southern Belle Farms to give them all of our money for all things strawberry. Their strawberries are so darn good and totally worth the trip.
We went to a further field this time and quickly filled our 2 baskets of berries.
Mr. Serious was able to join us this time since we went on the weekend. It was nice for him to get out of the house, too.
And of course, it was nice to have a bunch of fresh strawberries at home again! Now if I could get B to not eat all of them!
Hopefully you are able to find ways to make the every day feel a little different and special!
