The last pumpkin patch trip | Mommy and Me Monday | 455th ed
It hit me the other day (right around the time I told somebody B was “almost 5” instead of 4.5) that her pre-K year at our preschool is going to be a year of lasts for me. Naturally, being the last baby, I mean kid, I should think about all of the lasts, but most of them don’t dawn on you. I don’t remember the last diaper of hers I changed. I don’t remember the last time she nursed. So, I’ll have to stick with the lasts that I know are coming and document them.
This week was the last trip to the local farm, complete with hayride, rolly polly tubes, a giant slide and more. And of course, we have to get an us-ie by the pumpkins (which I’m 99% sure aren’t grown on this farm).
The Rolly Polly field where the kids roll around in tubes is always a big hit. The kids love to get in with friends and also crash into each other.
We were very thankful for the sun being out and the weather being nice. We’ve been previous years where I thought surely they were going to cancel. This time, the sun showed up! And so did B’s smile.
This is my favorite picture from our morning there. The sun got her and her smile just right. She had such a good time. I never really want to go on these trips, but she loves them and watching her with her friends, teachers and the other parents really makes me happy.
The week took a turn when she kept coughing and had a fever that wouldn’t quit. She was diagnosed with pneumonia. I’m hoping after a second visit to urgent care that she’s finally on the upswing and getting to feel better. A sick B is very different from a healthy B.
There will be a lot more firsts this year (thanks to the middle schooler) and lasts. I’m certain I’ll never be okay with either of them, but I’ll have to get there.
What did you do this week?

I’m so sorry that she was so sick! But I do like that Mickey facemask!!
