Being healthy and taking care of our bodies is very important to our family. It’s not smacking a treat out of a hand or say no to anything “unhealthy” but instead having healthy relationships with food, eating and exercise.

It’s a super fine line especially with little kids, but it’s something that I really like to share with our girls. And also, we do not want to take ourselves too seriously.

While the girls go ready for Halloween, Mr. Serious and I completely our strength workout for the day. The girls came out in time to do some abs and wanted to be in our picture documenting our workout.

They flexed all on their own! I love that they are proud of their bodies and their muscles.

Then, we all bundled up because the temperature dropped 40 degrees just in time for trick or treating. (No joke. It was 71 when we walked to school in the dark that morning and when we went out ot 6pm, it was in the low 30s!)

The girls scored a ton of candy loot, and yes, we all had some. We don’t do Halloween candy and treats every day and I think it’s good to enjoy treats, too!

Of course, we also have fruit for snacks when we can, too; nature’s candy, right? They found these yellow mangoes that were super juicy and full of flavor. They let me have a bite! Maybe we need to work on sharing, too:)

  1. Thanks for the read! The kids feel ownership and part of the team too when you involve them like that. This lifestyle is more caught than taught, so good job mom and dad.

    1. Thank you! I love that they are encouraged to join but don’t feel pressure!
