Urgent care and then a long walk | Mommy and Me Monday | 773rd ed
We took a quick trip to Houston for Thanksgiving. N had had a lingering cough, but seemed to be doing better, so we thought we’d be good to go. And, negative on the old covid test.
But instead of improving, she got worse, so we headed off to urgent care. So thankful for urgent care and their ability to schedule appointments! After all of the other big virus tests showing up empty, we landed on pneumonia with some antibiotics and steroids.
But the next morning, she was back to herself and we were so glad.
The oldest is now obsessed with starbucks and wanted to take a trip to one. Thinking she’d say no, I suggested we walk to the coffee shop.
I asked my sister if it was walkable and she said not really. That there were sidewalks half way there and the rest was next to a busy street with no sidewalk.
Houston continues to confuse me. The build sidewalks before neighborhoods go in, but then in a place where there could be a ton of foot traffic, there isn’t one for miles.
The map said it was 1.8 miles, but somehow, it ended up being 2.6 miles, but we made it. And sent proof of life.
Then while we were waiting for drinks, but sister decided to come and rescue us so we didn’t have to make the long walk back!
It was a quick, but really nice trip back to Houston with lost of hospitality and cousin time with temps swinging wildly. Of course, we came home and it was more of the same freezing temps.
