My life flashed before my eyes…TWICE

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

1) Sunday, 5pm: Witness to a high speed car chase, where the car spins out of control, comes flying at me (backwards, none the less), narrowly missing me and flying up the curb and onto the embankment. Important to note was that there were FIVE police cars also chasing at high speeds. Once the car came to a stop, there were five cops with guns drawn pointing at the car’s driver. I saw the cops open the car door, while guns still drawn, still pointing at the driver. This all happened in the course of one stop light cycle. Yes, it was on a road where there are stop lights every quarter mile or so. I can now look back and say, “what a dumbass” to the driver of the car, but at the time, I was scared shitless. Finally, the light changed green, and I could clear the intersection, so I did. As fast as I could. Of course, this didn’t even make the local news as there were other car chases, murders, etc. It’s not like I live in LA or anything.

2) Monday, 6:45am: While on my way to work, early in the morning, I witnessed yet another car/driver anomaly. It was dark and wet, but that is all of the excuses I will give this driver. I was exiting the freeway when I noticed the car in front of me doing the same. However, he wasn’t really following the lines on the road. Instead, he was driving between the lines for the exit and the lines for the freeway. He must’ve hit some grooves in the road, and woken up, or stopped dialing his cell phone to realize that he was about to drive off the bridge because he all of a sudden swerved right, then fishtailed around a bit and ended up facing on-coming traffic on the freeway. I had to stop in the middle of the exit ramp to avoid him hitting me. Thanks to drivers education for making sure to instill in me the importance of giving enough room between me and the car in front of me.

Thankfully, I am okay and survived both incidences. But a note to all you drivers out there, get your shit together, or stay home.
