Our family got out for some fresh air this weekend. And it’s a privilege that we are able to do so. It’s a privilege because we feel safe going out to a park, not be harassed by people, or questioned for it. I want to make sure to acknowledge that.
If you need to want to learn how to recognize your privilege or teach your kids, register for one of Danielle’s classes like Raising an Advocate. Support an organization like your local Black Lives Matter. Make a donation.
We did a curb side order of Chick-fil-A, and headed to a local open park. There were picnic tables open (I was surprised), so we had a picnic lunch. Then we had a forced family fun walk through the park.
It was hot, but nice to change up our walking scene. We saw very few people and listened to some FROZEN songs to keep our moods (read their moods) a little better.
Mr. Serious told me to smile on the way home and this is what he captured. Gotta love sunroof hair!
WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEK?
GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Come share your picture on the Facebook thread or use #MommyAndMeMonday!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.
