We have had the first week of school. Yes, we started August 1st this year. That also meant that we had some meet and greets to attend earlier in the week. After driving to the school one day earlier and seeing the insanity that was the school parking lot, we decided to walk up there. Thankfully, the weather held and we all made it up there to meet new teachers.
And before we knew it, it was the first day of school for 3 out of the 4 girls. Poor B has a two week later start date. Believe me, we are BOTH ready for her to start school.
Before we knew it, the first half wee was over and it was time for parent’s night out, which coincided with Mr. Serious’ birthday. We went out to dinner, had a drink and then drove (only if you are asking me) way too far to get a giant piece of cake from Marietta Diner (where the wait was over 1.5 hours at 8pm!).
We didn’t get a cake or make one this year, so I guess it was worth it for this slice of Crazy Cake. It had vanilla, black forest, red velvet and carrot cake all in one giant slice of cake (to the tune of almost $10 for the slice).
We picked up the kids from PNO and had them sing happy birthday and share the giant cake slice together. To say that they all worked together to devour it would be an understatement.
But first we “tortured” them with a family picture. It’s rough living around her.
What did you do this week?
