Happy 7th Birthday, E! | Mommy and Me Monday | 471st ed

For some reason, E’s February birthday seems to always have some sort of craziness around it. This year was no different with my trip to Utah, but I planned to make it back in time for her big 7th birthday. Thankfully, despite missing pilots, the worst turbulence I’ve ever experienced and a snow storm, I made it back home before she woke up on her birthday.

I didn’t want to make any promises I couldn’t keep, so her birthday morning (Friday), I asked her if she’d like me to come have lunch with her at school. She was pretty happy to hear that. And even more surprised that I brought her one of her favorites (tuna sushi…this girl has taste!).

Having only had 3 hours of sleep, but trying to rally, I asked her to pick her dinner location. And then I just didn’t want to leave the house. She was pretty understanding and these amazing people rallied to get a dinner thrown together.

Happy Snake Birthday

I had picked up her epic snake cake, so it made all right with the world. And we went out the next day for her birthday dinner. As it turns out, she was much happier with her choice this day versus the one the previous day. She only picked that one because “everybody else likes it.” But we reminded her that on her birthday, she gets to pick and everybody else has to find something they like.

One of her presents was an annual pass to the Southern Museum. None of us had been and we all learned a little more about The General and the great train chase of the Civil War. We are excited to go back and explore more as well as planning a visit to Tellus Museum where she also received an annual pass. Thankfully, we all get to go along with her.

Wishing E the happiest of years. We are so excited to see where it takes her.
