Time with the oldest and help from the youngest | Mommy and Me Monday | 588th ed

It’s not very often that I have time alone with just one kiddo, especially the oldest. But this week yielded some extra time.

Early in the week, we had to get fit in for a dentist appointment. Those two teeth that never had adult teeth were built up. And then she managed to crack part off. The only time available was during the day. So, enter some fun time for us.

I even read her a book about 6 month smile as if she were in kindergarten. She got a good laugh.

Because of the fun that was testing, we had no idea when her lunch would be. So once done with the dentist, we called the school and her class had already been to lunch.

Yay! More mom and oldest time.

She suggested Chick-fil-a. I didn’t want to wait 20 minutes (yes, it’s really taking that long sometimes. I counter-suggested sushi and she was happy with it.

Lunch in the car on the go was a win.

Bonus was I got myself some, too and didn’t have to make myself lunch when I got home.

Later in the week, we got word that the oldest two kiddos could get their shot. They weren’t going to throw it away and both wanted to get it. (Sidenote: If you don’t have anything nice to say, move along!)

No cameras while getting them, but we made sure to document it right after. I was only slightly jealous they got stickers.

Even later in the week, there was an outdoor 8th grade social and I was lucky enough to take her and grab some pictures. Of course, I didn’t get a picture of the two of us! It will have to be stored in my memories.

I flared up my TMJ and muscles this weekend and even ibuprofen wasn’t helping. Unfortunately, I can’t dry needle myself, but have found that sometimes a brief massage right on my jaw muscles (the ones that go up into my head) sometimes help.

B was quick to jump in and massage my muscles. Her hands are just the right size to get in there and apply pressure without feeling like my brain will pop out!
