Running with E and B | Mommy and Me Monday | 637th ed

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

We’ve been stepping up our running plan this last week with E and B. Which means the running plan has been stepping up for me, too.

Two years ago, we started running with the oldest two and I could outrun them. Now, our oldest is qualifying for sectionals with her running times. And our second is placing at meets as well. Needless to say I am no longer running with those two.

So far, I can keep up with E and B. Or rather, they can keep up with me. The training has gotten a little more intense with our intervals.

For this run, we ran 2 minutes and walked 1 minute for a total of 21 minutes. It was the first time we had 2 minute intervals. What’s more impressive is that they asked to do a run!

Not only are we working on running, but we are doing our lunge matrix to warm up and doing our cool down exercises and stretches. We still need to add our dynamic stretches in, but we’ll get there.

I asked to get a picture documenting the end of their run and this is what they gave me. So, they definitely have some more gas in the tank.

Friday, they had to join me at N’s flute lesson, so not wanting to drive back and forth, I asked them to do their run while we waited.

This one was a little tougher: 10 rounds of 1 min run, 30 seconds hard run, 90 seconds rest. After personally having done leg day, my legs weren’t thrilled with the idea of a 30 minute run, but we all finished. And this time, we crossed the 2 mile mark

This week has even longer intervals with bigger pushes, so I’m excited to see how they do (and how I do as this is my hardest week of a Power Zone Challenge). We’ll get through it; one step at a time!
