Only the Best for Them and Organic Cooking{Review and Giveaway}

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

I must admit, I am not the best about cooking organic and being conscious of all of our food purchases.  I get organic milk (for the kiddos) and aim for organic meat, but I’m sad to say that I don’t feel like I have enough time to find the good deals and make these important purchases.  Needless to say, I want to do better.simply organic cookbook

Only the Best for Them offered me the opportunity to check out a cookbook: Simply Organic: A Cookbook for Sustainable, Seasonal, and Local Ingredients by Jesse Ziff Cool.  It is a great introductory cookbook into healthy organic cooking.  It contains 150 simple recipes that are sorted by ingredients when they are at their peak of ripeness.  I am horrible at knowing the seasons of most fruits and vegetables, so this alone was a big help.

Most of the recipes feature beautiful and yummy pictures of the meals as prepared.  They also feature kitchen tips and helpful information on making the right choices in your purchases for your meals.

After a quick glance of the book, I immediately decided to make Asparagus and Scallops.  The combination sounded fun and yummy, with a little kick.  The recipe was really easy to prepare.  And a nice treat for us.  It tasted like gourmet food at home.  And believe me when I say if I can cook it, then you can cook it!  Here are the breaded scallops and the sauce that goes on top of it (notice the yummy cookbook picture in the background).

The finished product was delicious.  And, it did have a spicy kick to it, which made it even tastier.

There are a lot of other recipes that I can’t wait to try out.  Especially now that Spring is here and Summer is on the way.  And, it’s not just dinners, either. there are also desserts, side items and breakfasts.

Buy it: Simply Organic: A Cookbook for Sustainable, Seasonal, and Local Ingredients by Jesse Ziff Cool is available on Amazon for $16.47.

My opinions are my honest, and thoughtful views and were not influenced by any source. I was not compensated monetarily for this giveaway.  Thank you to Only the Best for Them for providing the cookbook for review and giveaway.

  6. It's really fun that you put this post up today. I'm really trying to switch over to going organic for the health of me and my family. I've also been looking into more organic products such as clothing….according to that website Clothing made from organically grown cotton does not retain toxic chemicals. I have sensitve skin and hope that my daughter won't inherit that trait from me but it's nice knowing that there are other products out there.

    My sister and I watched Food Inc the other day and I was extremely affected by it. If you haven't seen it yet you should watch it.
    It would be fun to win the cook book but I will probably still order it regardless. Thanks for the link and the tip about the cook book!!!
